2009-12-24 Merry Christmas Everyone!

Aiysha: We're a strange family...

Things we got up to over the last week:

Went out to McDonalds before we drove around looking at everyone's lights. That was so much fun - some were quite amazing, and even had music! Lauren spent the day with us too, which was excellent. I went to Whitfords water slides with Lauren too on another day - that was brilliant!

We went down to Matilda Bay today, caught jellies! Daddy even windsurfed between 2 dolphins! Amazing!

I can't wait for Christmas Day! I have set out all mine and Cloggers certficates, my reports, and put the treats out for all the reindeers and Santa. They're going to love it!

Merry Christmas everyone!

2009-12-11 Hip Hop Champ Just Like Dad!

Aiysha:
I won my dance class hip hop competition at school! I was the best in the class out of 50 children, and I had to perform in from of everyone with the best boy who was Ellis! I was so proud, and I practiced at home so much for Mummy and Daddy, but I never thought I would win it!

I also went to a grown ups party - Lauren and Ash from next door are leaving, and stayed the latest I have ever stayed up - 1am! Daddy stayed with me, as he wanted to watch the rugby. We dressed up like 'hippies', so we had lots of flower stuff on, painted faces, and Daddy has his waistcoat and our small guitar. It was really funny. While we were there, we watched the Wannaroo Show fireworks! It was so nice.

Danielle's Mum rang up for an emergency, and asked if we could have Danielle for the night, and I was so excited! We had so much fun, and we had a lovely dinner, and played loads of games. Daddy read us a crazy Mr Men story, and Mummy made us cakes! It was brilliant!

We also had our school disco, but it was too hot to dance so I played outside with Clog and my friends.

Cloggy: We had Ella round for the day this week as her mum was in hospital, and it was so much fun!

I also had my swimming lesson, and I am swimming without floats, and learning how to keep my head above water! I am so excited, and love it!

C: I am on holiday, but feel as busy as ever! It's crazy! I love spending time with the girls though! So proud of them with their dancing and swimming!

S: Finally back from hamstring injury, played 2 nights this week, and my leg was fine! So nice to be back playing!

2009-11-25 Uncool Dave!

Aiysha:
I was sooooo excited about Uncle Dave visiting, and it was a brilliant 2 weeks! Pretty much as soon as he got here, we started playing top trumps, and it was sooo much fun! I got better and better, and he caught me a couple of times arranging the cards - boo! I managed to remember all the different types of cards, and how good they all are.

Dave also brought some really cool helicopters which really fly! They are sooo funny, and Lauren and I loved playing with them in the mornings when she comes round.

Whenever Daddy had rugby training, Uncle Dave would take me and we'd play some games - it was great. He even allowed me to take some picture with his camera, which was so cool. He also came to watch me swim, and also watched my gymnastics class aswell. After one gym session, Uncle Dave and Daddy took me to lunch in the market - I had chips, and the boys had noodles as usual...

One cool evening, we all went to Botanical Golf, and although I was not allowed to play mini-golf, I explored the forest with Uncle Dave, and we had lovely pizzas. Uncle Dave loved the chips - they were the nicest he's ever had he said.

Uncle Dave and Daddy had a photo competition because they had the same camera. They asked me to judge which photos were the best in their action, tree, cactus and portrait categories. For most of them, I chose the same photos as Mummy, which was funny! Uncle Dave won the competition - boo!

It was so great having Uncle Dave around. I got up specially at 3am to say goodbye to him, and I was very sad. I hope he comes to visit us again soon!

Lauren came over for a sleepover just before Uncle Dave arrived - the first with anyone in her class, and we did some special things like get pizza, watch Hanna Montana, and stay up talking. Mummy took us strawberry picking the next day (even though we got there too early), and then to Rotary Park. It was great fun, and I loved Lauren coming round.

Dr Roxo: I love Uncle Dave - we were buddies! I kept on giving him kisses everywhere, even when he was leaving in the car! He was so funny. I was very sad when he left, and the day after he left I closed the door for him as I thought he was sleeping in. Then Daddy told me he has flown away, which made me sad, but he also said we were going to talk to him soon, and I said "Yesssssss!". He taught me to call Daddy "Stevie Wee Wee". Daddy was not happy. We also did rugby tackle, and watched lots of TV together.

C: Dave was the perfect guest once again! Amazing with the kids, so helpful around the house, and was funny! Thanks Dave!

S: What a fantastic couple of weeks! Not only did I not have to go to work, we did so much stuff it was amazing!

We finished GOW2, did loads of fitness, played tennis, did body boarding, went camping, did Jacobs Ladder, went to Little Creatures, went for Dim Sum, touch rugby, and watched Metalocalypse!

We tried to go canoeing, but the day we chose was awful! Instead we went body boarding in gale force winds which was so funny, but we didn't last long.

Camping at Laine Poole was amazing. We set off a little late, as it took 3 hours to get to our camp site. Luckily, on the way we bought some firewood, paper and matches. If we didn't, we would not have been able to cook dinner in the barbecue pits! We set up our tent, then went for our hike. We got lost on the way since the signs changed - little did we know we were looking at the wrong signs. Night time was amazing, only forest sounds, and there was no one around! We did some cool pictures by writing people's names using a torch - we forgot to do Claire, and she was not happy.

Our fitness sessions went from Neil Hawkins Park, to runs on the beach, to Emerald Park, to Jacobs Ladder, to our hiking. It was great.

The Touch Rugby State Championships were on, which we won again. Unfortunately, I had a hamstring problem, and only played 2 games, including the final which I scored a try. Leading up to the tournament, I was frantically seeing a physio to get it fixed, which was rather frustrating for both Dave and I!

Kings Park was lovely when we went, and I tried to take Dave to the nicest coffee place in Perth - Rosso, but it only just closed before we got there! How annoying!

Our photo competition was funny. I struggled with the action and portrait photos. Claire was the judge, and discounted a lot of mine 'arty' shots as she thought they were not so good. Shame on her!

GOW3 is not out until 2010! We struggled to find other games (Okami, Shadow of the Colossus), but suppose will have to wait until it comes out next year on PS3.

On Dave's last day, we went to Mullaloo on a beautifully hot calm day. We went for a run, and then did some body surfing and boarding. It was amazing. Also went for Dim Sum, and then had a lovely sweet sauce chicken dinner. We tried to go for a swim, but the pool had no chlorine so we had to come out. Boo!

Can't wait for you to visit again Dave! We have so much to do!

2009-11-06 Royal Show, Dolphins and Mandurah!

Aiysha:
This morning I heard the junk collection men, so I ran outside to watch. When they started on our pile, I got Roxy up, and we watched them together - it was so much fun! Grandpa Arthur would be so proud of us! I also think he would have been outside first.

I am so excited as I have 2 visitors coming very soon! Lauren is coming for a sleepover, her first with a school friend, this Saturday! We're going to have so much fun, and we are going to have pizzas too! After that, Uncle Dave is coming for 2 weeks, which is going to be really funny.

Our pool is just about the right temperature now. We've been in it a few times, but now it is beginning to be comfortable, so Roxy and I are so excited!

We have tried to go strawberry picking the last few weeks, but they have either been closed, or they have not had any left since they left only a small patch for us to pick in. We were so disappointed! Next time we have to go a bit earlier in the day.

A couple of weekends ago we went to Mandurah for Saturday night, and it was so much fun! We could actually walk to a beach from our cabin, and we did that twice. It was a cool beach as the waves were really big, and we played poison waves. Roxy was pretty quick too, but got caught a couple of times. We hired a speedboat to go around the canals, and Daddy let me drive for a while, which was really hard. We saw some nice houses, and at one point, we almost got stuck on some sand in the middle of the river, which was a bit scary. We didn't see any dolphins, but it was great fun. We also saw some amazing living rocks just in the river - these are rocks with things growing on them, and they are alive! They look like huge pillows under the water!

However, we did see some on Daddy's birthday down near Rockingham. The boat took us out to Penguin Island, and from there we went out to find the dolphins. It was amazing, as we saw baby dolphins too, which were so cute! We stayed for some lunch too - fish and chips of course. After that we headed home to have some cake that Mummy and I got from Sugar and Spice - it was an amazing chocolate cake. Daddy had such a fun birthday, and me and Roxy made him some lovely gifts.

I had my Inter-school carnival, and I won my race! Even though I was running 2nd division, I was really proud. Next year I will be running first division again I think!

Halloween was great fun. Even though Callum did not come with us, and Lauren was so disappointed not coming as she was ill, Danielle and Tiana still came round, and we were joined by Lauren and Ash from next door, and Luke rode on his bike. Oh, and of course Clogger cam round with us. We got loads of sweets! I ate so many that I got a rash, so Mummy thinks. What a shame.

We went to the Royal Show for the first time since we have been in Perth. We didn't know what to expect, and we arrived just after lunch. We managed to see the motorcyclists doing their jumps, and I got a chance to go on the bungee trampolines - I actually did double summersaults, which were so funny, and no one else did them. We had sweet corn and hot dogs for dinner, which was nice, and we spent a long time laughing at the names of different types of cats in the cat show. The last thing we did was watch a log chopping competition, which was amazing. We've never seen anything like that before, and it was very exciting!

One day we also went to Bells Rapids - it was funny because we went for a little walk and we found a big rope swing, and I swung so high that Mummy got scared!

Finally, I dressed up as an Egyptian for my class assembly! Thank you Grandma and Grandpa for my outfit!

Clara: Come on Uncle Dave, hurry up! Guess what? We saw dolphins of Daddys birthday!

C: I am finding it really hard to relax now that I have nothing to do! Jobs jobs jobs! I did dip in the pool though...

S: The perfect birthday! I loved it! State Championships are coming up soon, but I've pulled my hammy...not bad though...

2009-09-11 Circus, State Champs and Daddys Day!

Aiysha:
We went to the circus! It was brilliant! I was so excited, and it was everything I thought it would be! It was called the Circus Joseph Ashton, and it was on at Joondalup. It had animals, gymnastics, amazing apparatus which spun round the whole tent, jugglers, amazing lights, clowns and the best thing - Miniature Ponies! Roxy could not stop talking about them, and we got to go on them in the interval! It was really fun!

I also had my State Championship Gymnastic competition, and it was really good fun. It was on a Friday, so I had to miss some school too! Unfortunately, I fell off the beam even though I practiced loads at home, but I will get it right for next time. Daddy said my floor routine was amazing, and that I was really graceful. I got the best in my team for that. Overall, our team came second, and I came 4th on the bars, and 5th on the floor! I love getting medals and ribbons!

Clogger started her swimming lessons, and after she got upset in the first lesson, she is so brave now! I am so proud of her when she goes underwater and dives in. She can almost do the splits too! She is going to be a really good dancer, gymnast and swimmer!

I have been training with Daddy over the past few weeks for my School Carnival. We have been training on a slope, and now we are going to the school oval to practice. Last week, I raced Mummy 5 times, and beat her everytime! I still cannot beat Daddy, but he better watch out!

I have been for a few plays with people too! I am so busy! At Laurens, she has got so many motor toys that it is so much fun! I love going on her motor bike, as it is pink, and I go really fast on it! I have to wear my helmet too! I also went to Martina's for a play, but she got a bit upset when I left. Lauren, Tiana and Cameron have also been to mine for a play.

On Father's Day we had so many surprises for Daddy! He loved his presents, even though they were for me and Mummy - chocolate and chutney, but he loved his cards and Cloggers table mat. We then went to the Swan Valley, and went to the Chocolate Factory. We ate quite a few, but didn't buy anything. We decided to go to an Illusionary Art museum, and Daddy got talking to the artist. They were quite amazing metal paintings though, and they moved when you walked past them depending on the light. Daddy and Mummy said they had never seen anything like that before, and neither had I. We then went to Lilly In The Valley, a really peaceful cafe and we had scones and drinks. We got home late for Roxy's sleep, and then we took Daddy to his surprise dinner at Arirang Korean. Daddy and Mummy loved it, and I did not think I would, but I ate loads! I loved the deep fried ice-cream too! Happy Fathers Day Daddy!

I love the Go Girl! books! I have read so many of them now, and can't wait to get more!

Grandma sent us a baby picture - we had no idea who it was, but Mummy found the picture, and it was Clog. Daddy was not happy he got it wrong.

Clogger: Last week when we dropped Lauren off, Daddy and I went to a park with a small hill! I said to Daddy "Can we go up the mountain?", and so we did, and it was really windy! Daddy found me some leaves, and I threw them up in the air and we watched them fly in the wind! It was really funny, and we ran up and down the mountain so many times! It was fun!

I loved the miniature ponies! I wanted to ride them all day, and told Mummy that. I was sad that I could not.

I am getting more brave in my swimming lessons, and I am starting to enjoy them now, I think! I can't wait to swim in our own pool!

C: Busy, busy busy! I can't wait to be on holiday! only 3 weeks to go! We need to spend more time in the Swan Valley - it is sooo close!

S: Had the best Fathers Day ever! It was so funny, and so many surprises! Thank you!
