2012-01-15 Week 4 - Skiing In The Alps

Aiysha: SNOW! No snow at the airport, but as we drove up the mountain in the night time, there was sooo much snow! I couldn't believe it! I went out with Roxy and Daddy and started throwing snow around and we actually built a snowman, which would be there until we left (without a head though, as it melted). Then we sat down for dinner for one of many amazing meals which Roxy and I (and Daddy) enjoyed!

We went to Les Gets, and stayed in Le Replan chalet owned by Raphaelle, and the chalet was looked after by a really nice girl called Hayley - they both cooked our amazing meals!

Every meal Nick and Daddy just looked at each other wondering if it could get any nicer, and they were surprised every time. They even made a list of all the best meals they had - very strange boys...

It was so strange us all in the same house together, but very exciting. We got fitted with our boots and skis on Monday morning, and realised how hard it was to walk in them! We were all so excited about skiing.

We met Uncle Dave going to his ski school - he seemed a bit rushed. We all took a bubble up to the green nursery slope, and that is where Mummy, Daddy, Grandma and Grandpa watched us for a bit before they headed off. It was pretty hard to start with, but we learned how to snow plough. Uncle Dave learned the same skills as us, and in the afternoon Mummy and Daddy almost took us down a blue run, but Dave's instructor stopped us making a big mistake!

As the week went on, we learned more skills, and we were pretty fast by the end, and we managed to go down some reds! Uncle Dave was my ski buddy during the week, but soon he got better, and moved onto reds - he did very well. Roxy did so well too, and she was so fast! I was pretty proud of myself, and loved it so much. It was so much fun!

Grandma Sue was amazing! She was pretty cautious to start with, but she ended up skiing every day with Grandpa. We were all very proud of her! Well done Grandma Sue!

Each afternoon we came back and had cakes and tea - that was such a nice part of the day - we were all exhausted, Uncle Dave came back with us, and we all sat around chatting eating yummy cake with a roaring fire! It was so nice! We tried to ski down to our chalet by going down Bluet run back to our chalet, and going down the normal blue with Roxy snow ploughing with Mummy.

At night we played Who Wants To Be A Millionaire? It was really funny, and soon we played that more than the Wii!

We loved hearing Nick And Lizzie's stories of where they had been, and checking Nicks speed on his iPod app. They were so much fun and were always laughing! They looked after us so well!

Uncle Dave was funny - we ended up calling him Uncool Wave, as every time he tried to wave at someone he would stack it - funny! The funniest story was when he lost his skis following Lizzie and Nick. He was awesome though, and always made us laugh!

The best holiday ever!

Clara: I am so not afraid of speed! I kept on trying to bump into Daddy when he stopped! Once I forgot to stop and he had to rugby tackle me! Funny!

Aiysha and I loved the Indians! We just kept on going up and down them! Daddy and Uncle Dave had a bit of trouble with them, but we didn't. Each time either of them fell over, Aiysha shouted "You down again?" It must have been really annoying!

The best holiday ever!

C: Perfect holiday! I loved every minute, and I was really getting my parallel turns going.

S: Absolutely amazing! Well, apart from getting lost on the first day walking back to our chalet. Not funny. Should have stayed for the beer.

2012-01-08 Week 3 - Back To Leicester

Aiysha: Grandpa Brian and Grandma Sik took Daddy, Clog and I to Warwick Castle - it was a cold day, but it was really enjoyable! We loved it! We went to the park, saw the Oubliette (where they send very naughty people), met a princess, and saw loads of other things. We didn't have much lunch, but bought some crisps and had some muffins. We climbed all the way along the top of the castle wall, which was so much fun!

I went for a walk with Grandma Sue one day, which was lovely. Just me and Grandma, and I asked lots and lots of questions.

We went to town to do some last minute shopping before France, but we ended up waiting for Daddy in a different place, and it took over an hour to find him! He was a silly billy. He told a lot of stories about magic in the car on the way home, so we forgave him.

Daddy cooked us all Arthurs Beef and a chinese lasagne, and then we watched Mary Poppings on video - Grandma actually taught the boy in it! Wow!

I am so excited about going skiing, and going on a plane again. I love getting to the gate early too! We took a taxi to Birmingham Airport, and off we went...here we go!

Clara: I went to sleep in Lizzies Room with Mummy because I was a little sad.

I got Daddy wet in bath - it made me and Aiysha laugh so much! Daddy did not laugh, but he did try to hide from us - Aiysha spotted him, but I didn't - funny Daddy!

I loved taking pudding orders and serving pudding at the end of dinner. Me and Aiysha make a great team!

C: Can't wait to get to France! So exciting!

S: Hmmm, will snowboarding be as painful this time...
