2014-01-05 - 2014-01-12 - Skiing at Alpe D'huez and Oz au Oisans!

Uncle Dave's jump was probably the funny moment of the week - we still laugh at it, and will be for years to come! Unfortunately, he won photo of the week. Daddy won video of the week. Our chalet was run by Leah and Jowan who were so nice and were amazing hosts!

Nick and Daddy loved pork belly on first night, but they also had quail. We rated all meals at the end, and decided everything was amazing!

Mathieu was Paish and Roxy's private skiing coach, which was amazing! They had 4 days, and by the end they were able to do a red run (but didn't really want to) by accidentally being too late on the ski down the slope. Grandma's skiing coach was Phillippe, and she soon found her form after that.

Uncle Dave's skiing was really good considering it was his first time. Kee was a cautious on her snowboard. Nick was once again the leader at snowboarding, but Daddy beat him on the speed. Mummy was as good as ever, and Lizzie was in protective mode because of her ribs, but also managed to hurt her shoulder. Lizzie and Nick spent a couple of days skiing, but took Daddy and Dave on some black runs on their snowboards which they really enjoyed. Roxy was really fast, and I managed to be the star of  the video of the week by wiping out in front of the camera. Daddy hurt his calf on day 3, was going to have a day off but ended up hurting his calf again on a black run. He also wiped out on a blue run on the last day - "Dumbo-o-o-o Africa"! Some snowboarder wiped me out on the last day, which injured my groin - I was not happy about that at all, but the rest of the trip was amazing!

Night times were really funny - we would get back for tea, play Categorically Speaking (which Uncool Dave kept of arguing about), then we would have our amazing dinner before the grown ups, then we would have our photo of the day, then we would chat with the grown ups until bedtime. It was so funny every night.

Best ski lift ever over the other side of the mountain, down a valley, and up the other side (photo of the week for Dave). Amazing scenery, saw dogs pulling sleds, mountain goats, rabbit tracks.
