2015-11-22 TACT Trials, Choir Assembly

Aiysha: We had our TACT trials over the past two weeks, and I saw a lot of the players I played with last year. It was fun, and I was a little rusty on shooting, but I think I played okay.

Clara: We won again at our Spring netball - we all played pretty well, and I love it!

We had our Junior and Senior Choir Assembly, and I was soooo proud. It went really well, and everyone said we were pretty good. Daddy said it was the best school choir he had ever seen!

Final preparations for our show last week! I can't wait!

C: Pool almost there!

S: Very impressed!

2015-11-21 "Burning Fruit Sizzles at Wanneroo Business Awards"

"Burning Fruit, a Joondalup based web development company, won the Most Innovative Business and Best New Business at the City of Wanneroo Business Awards on Friday.
Attended by The Mayor of the City of Wanneroo Tracey Roberts, the Wanneroo Business Association put on a fantastic night of glitz and glamour to showcase the top businesses in the northern corridor. Sponsored by organisations such as ECU, Business Station, West Coast Institute and the Wanneroo Times, many cutting edge businesses competed for the awards showing just how the business community in the north is evolving to be a major force across WA.
Burning Fruit, run by entrepreneurs Julian Dyer and Stephen Wigley, were humbled by the awards after setting up a business that devotes itself to understanding website visitor behavior for businesses throughout Australia. Burning Fruit use their cutting edge tools to understand what a target audience wants from a website resulting in maximum engagement and conversion for the business owner.
“We were absolutely blown away by winning these awards. When setting up Burning Fruit a year ago, Steve and I decided to collaborate rather than compete and have come such a long way in such a short amount of time. ” said Julz, Creative Director of Burning Fruit.
“We can’t wait to see what our second year can bring. We are so excited!” Julz added.
Burning Fruit can be contacted via their websitehttp://www.burningfruit.com, and would love to hear from any business who wishes to take their online presence to the next level."

2015-11-11 Higher Nets, Excursion, Party, Awards Finalists!

Clara: We smashed our netball last week, and this week we played an age group higher than us, and they put the nets up higher! Daddy also selected all our positions, and coached us through the game, and in the end we drew 2-2, which was great. We all played really well, did loads of bounce passes as they were really tall, and marked really well.

Mummy came with our class to the Rio Tinto discovery park, and it was fun! There were a few naughty people there, but Mummy really helped out, and it was great to have her there.

I went to watch Daddy play basketball - they drew in the last second as the other team scored. It was a good game though. Julz gave Daddy some amazing strawberries, and after we went to the fish shop we went to Scarborough Beach to throw a ball around, watch the dancing and the windsurfing.

Aiysha: I went to a party and a sleepover at Yasmin's on Saturday night, which was fun. We also have been running on Thursdays and going to Lakeside. I also bought a new pair of trainers, and l love them. I think I'm ready for TACT trials next week.

C: I was great going with the school, and Roxy played so well at netball over the last couple of weeks. Well done Rox!

S: The last two games have been amazing for you Rox, keep it up!

We are also finalists at the WBA Business Awards in two categories - Most Innovative Business and Best New Business - Awards evening this Friday. Should be interesting! Either way, we're pretty chuffed after only a year!

2015-10-31 Halloween + RWC Final + Mum Goes South!

Clara: It was Halloween, and Mummy left us to go to Linda's party in Bunker Bay!

It was so exciting as Aiva and Aaliyah were coming round to do Trick or Treat, and we also planned to meet up at the Edgewater Primary Halloween Fete.

The fete was so much better than anyone though it was going to be, and lots of people turned up all dressed up! I went into the haunted house, played splat the rat, and did a few special dips to get prizes. It was fun! I met Aiva there, but Aaliyah was a little late, so she came back with Matt.

It was cool going round the houses - not many kids were round, so we got loads of sweets. We were even invited into a house where they were having a dress up Halloween party! Dad and Matt were pretty amazed, but it was fun.

We also had our netball windup when we went to Inflatable World - it was fun!

Aiysha: I went for a rugby final sleepover - it was touch and go whether I would be going or not, but in the end I was allowed, and it was fun. Pretty tiring though, and the game was disappointing.

We went to the beach the next day, and everyone was so tired that we just enjoyed sitting and chatting about the party, Mum's party and Halloween.

C: Bunker Bay was fun - lovely wine, lovely company and loads of dramas! Lots to drink though but I could not stay up late :-(

S: Wow, the RWC final was ruined because of the poor refereeing! We probably should have lost, but man, there were some terrible decisions!

Shame it is over...just another 4 years to wait now.

2015-10-18 Hospital, Frog House, Open Night

Clara: Mummy came to our Open Night, but Daddy was in Hospital all day so he could not come - what a shame! Mrs Rubbidge did ask me to show Daddy the art room when he dropped me off at school though, which was great!

We had an 18-3 win for Rebels, which was great! We're playing really well now, and hope we do this in the winter tournament now!

Daddy and I stayed at home and rested on the day bed in frog house. We also watched Gravity later on as I fell asleep in Vietnam when we watched it when I was ill. Daddy and I also went to the beach to throw a ball around - it was fun!

Aiysha: I went with Yasmin to Lakeside for shopping and also had a sleep over at Casey's. We were only meant to go surfing, but ended up sleeping over and being a baby sitter too! It was fun, but I even got paid for it! Wow! I can get paid for having fun!

C: Pool finally clear - or is it? I can't wait to dive in after everything that has happened. Hope that can be soon!

S: Hospital - after a week of multiple symptoms, it all came to a head on the 14th, and I had to go to hospital. I was only meant to wait 2 hours, but in the end it was 5 hours, had bloods done and x-rays, but all results were inconclusive - great. Everyone apart from The Wigley's thought it was dengue - The Wigley's just thought I was a whinger...poor Doodis!

2015-10-11 Day 16 - Back Home!

Arrived home early in the morning. Nice to be home. Nice and warm. Sweet sauce chicken!

2015-10-10 Day 15 - Botanical Gardens / Goodbye Singapore

Noodles and croissants for breakfast in hotel - yummy! A bit early though, as we had such a late night! Changed some money and took a taxi to the Botanical Gardens - it was very relaxing, and all we could do in half a day. Had to get back by 2pm, and left to airport. We noticed some people being bumped off this flight because of us! We were hoping we were going to get some nice seats, not nope, only Aisle 1.

2015-10-09 Day 14 - Hello Singapore

Nope, not a typo - they just didn't bother to tell us we were going to spend the night in Singapore. But they did try to say the flight left early - they must think we are pretty dumb. We were met off the plane, and we got a taxi to Days Hotel. Roxy split here chin open while we were ordering food in Ho Chi Mihn, and it bled all the way to Singapore. We had to see the doctor at around 2am, and got to our hotel after that. We're gonna be tired tomorrow!

Aiyshy not happy as she was going to miss her party, but we did get to see ANW at the airport!

2015-10-09 Day 13 - Vietnam War Museum / Farewell Ho Chi Mihn

Lazy wake up back at Little Saigon Boutique Hotel. Egg station! Rushed out to the Vietnam War Museum. Very disturbing, but very real. Tried to go for rooftop coffee but way too exorbitant. Went to a nice restaurant, but did a very average pizza that had to be complained about to the embarrassment of the girls. River walk, shopping. Bakery,  shopping. Great bargains. Back to hotel,  quick pack for airport and just as we began to left, the skies opened and there was an absolutely massive downpour. Took ages to get to the airport, but got there on time.

Our connecting flight times are wrong (5pm the following day), but no doubt just a typo. Had some nice won ton soup noodles at the hotel restaurants though!

2015-10-08 Day 12 - Cancelled Flight / Back to Ho Chi Mihn

Big breakfast again - lovely, hung around a bit, then packed up. Left at 10, another fallen pole on the road. Got to the airport on time, but flight was delayed by 2 hours. Rained. Played sheriff,  mastermind, checkers. Snack lunch. Sundaes! We arrived HCM at 5, back to the craziness. Bohdi tree again, but Mummy needed a maccas for dinner. Markets, funny bargaining, and best bargaining of the whole holiday! Shoes!

2015-10-07 Day 11 - Vinpearlland / Fishing

Big Brekkie. Not another water park - Vinpearlland water park, amazing. Possibly the best visit ever? There were literally a maximum of 15-20 people there the whole day - it was quite bizarre. It was like they opened the park for us privately! Tornado,  space bowl, drop, boomerang, slide races. Helped group of 3 on rides.

We got back at 430 for fishing. We had loads of bites from huge fish that stole our lines, and in the end only caught 2 - Coral trout and a small fish. We saw an amazing sea snake at dusk skittering across the top of the sea - our boat man was a little bit wary of it. We arrived back in the dark and for dinner we had our fish fried - lovely! The mung bean pudding was not so great though.

2015-10-06 Day 10 - Snorkeling / Fishing / Rain!

Roxy still not 100%. Big breakfast, bacon, pancakes, bread, juices, fruit - lovely! Girls played while Mum and Dad went kayaking to the fishing village - just around the corner! Sprint training with Paish in the midday heat - it was scorching! Lunch in our room. Booked a boat and went snorkeling and saw a huge cuttlefish. We then spent some time fishing which we were very unsure about, but when we got into the swing of things we caught six fish! Roxy caught most of them, and she loved it! We gave all the fish to the boatman as we were going out that night.

We took a long taxi ride to the market for seafood dinner and shopping - taxi was so expensive, but worth it. Lovely dinner, finished off with some ice creams. Second movie night - Gravity and Lone Survivor.
