2017-12-17 Uncle Dave - Pt. 3 - Final Leg / The Ashes, Garage Sales and Uncle Dave's Birthday!

 

Clara: It was great having Uncle Dave here - I was so happy to see him when he came back from Jurien Bay, and was so happy Aiysha could spend some time with him as she was working a lot!

We went around the Christmas lights which was funny and a little chilly! It was so nice him being here for his birthday, and we even got him to go to some garage sales which was funny! He bought a telescope for Daddy for $5 - he was very happy about that! Daddy and Dave even constructed it that day - still need to try it out though.

Aiysha: Watching Day 2 of the Ashes was great - it was just me and Uncle Dave, and we had so much fun! We had to hunt around for a Chinese for lunch, and it wasn't too hot. Daddy and Clara dropped us off, and Dave was soooo surprised! He couldn't believe it, and he was so happy! It was so good to spend some quality time with him! Not only that, as soon as we sat down the English wickets started falling! What a day!

C: We had such a lovely time with Dave! The perfect guest! Hope to see you soon!

S: It was great to see Dave's face when he realised he was going to the cricket! Dave and I went up to Burns Beach for a lovely walk! Stopped for coffee and our usual ideas chat - very interesting!

2017-12-14 Uncle Dave - Pt. 2 - Jurien Bay

S: What a funny trip! Nick and Danch joined us in the second day, so we had a go right on the peninsula on the first day, which was not very successful. It was fun though, and loads of wind! When the lads came up, we went across the dunes right around the corner, and it was amazing! We got our 4.5m sail out, and it was more than enough.

I had a bit of a mare at the end of the day, and couldn't make it back on the board - my mast slipped up, so I had no chance. I must have drifted for over an hour. Nick and Danch went to the pub while Dave waited for me to get back in - I was sooooo tired!

Dave did so well considering he hadn't surfed for years! He only got annoyed once, but the rest was full of effort! It was fun all the same.

We did go out to look at the meteor shower at night, and we also went out for dinner both nights. Dave and I played The Last of Us on the first night after we made slow cooked chicken, which was so much fun!

Once again, no time for crabbing. We stopped for coffee's and breakfasts though! What a funny trip! Must do this more often! We sent Jason a couple of pics as he pulled out last minute, but we felt bad he couldn't make it - maybe next time Jas!

2017-12-10 Uncle Dave - Pt. 1 - Arrival

Clara: I was so happy to see Uncle Dave I cried! It was great seeing his plane arrive, and see him walk through the gate! He hasn't changed a bit!

We did so much in that first week - went to carols, the beach, walks, games, rugby, shopping, windsurfing. He must have been exhausted!

The carols were so nice, and the fireworks were awesome!

Aiysha: Uncle Dave was funny. While Clara was at school, we took Dave to Yelo. That was nice! We also went to the beach loads and of course played catchy! I won, obviously!

C: Ah man, what a mess for the car! Great to see Uncle Dave again though! It is so nice having him around, although his jokes never change!

S: What a disastrous trip to Yelo! We decided to take Aiysha's open top car, and we got there fine. On the way back though, something snapped in the hydraulics, and the roof didn't go down again - oh dear. I hope it can be fixed.
