2018-07-11 - Bali: Day 3 - Waterbom Park

Time for some fun! Pouring with rain this morning so we decided to leave at around 930 - it all cleared as we got to the park, which was great! Waterbom Park was crowded but fun anyway. The rides were relaxing and we can only get eight of them anyway - Constrictor, Boomerang, Twin Racer, Superbowl. Mummy hurt her bum on the Boomerang, but that was mine and Paish's favourite!

At lunch we had a mexican and some pizza, which was pretty nice apart from the amount of people smoking! We had funny rides to and from the park with Madi. We failed to have suckling pig, but had curry and pizza from the Entertainment Book! Hydrabadi, Paneer Methi (amazing), perhaps the best Indian curry ever!

Lots of lobsters and belugas - pretty funny.

2018-07-10 - Bali: Day 2 - Our Anniversary - Plantation, Rice Fields, Waterfalls and Monkeys!

Happy anniversary Kroubie!

7 AM - What a place to wake up! In the middle of a rain forest!

Stepping - finally using my knee! I was pretty pleased.

Some loud Japanese getting in the way doing poolside mobile photography - ruined the peacefulness somewhat. 11 up and downs.

Saw a very weird insect on our doorstep.

Emergency stop at the coffee plantation by Madi! Not on our list, but heck why not? As it happens it was so cool!! Coffee made from the Lemur droppings (made by locals when the colonials and them from harvesting fresh beans - smart colonials!). Ordered a selection of teas and coffees-lemongrass tea, cinnamon and coconut coffee amazing. Girls then went for a super Extreme swing-very funny. We then walked around taking photos in some cool places-round thatch, glass platform. Not a bad first stop!

We then went to the rice fields - a lot of steps, and a lot of ups and downs. It was a long walk, and at some point me and Aiysha lost the others - what the! At the end we went to some clothes shops - girls loved it!

Lunch was amazing - possibly the best duck ever! Green chilli duck in a rice paddy field.

Waterfalls was our next stop - Kanto Lampe - pretty crowded place, and it was raining when we got there. We had to negotiate a lot of selfie takers, models and groups. We tried to go down the river, but the current was very strong, so in the end we did a leaf boat race - Paish won, I lost, very funny.

Last stop was Ubud Monkey Forest - fascinating. Lots of babies and we saw a stupid man get attacked as he had food. We sadly saw a dead baby monkey being played with by the other monkeys.

We were dropped off in Ubud for dinner - shopping, bargained for Aiysha's wrap around trousers - $450 for one to $150 for two! Clara's t-shirts from $200 for one to $100 for two! Also got 10 keyrings for $180.

Walked miles to the Dirty Monkey Bubuk House - amazing setting - had duck, spaghetti, veges with chicken mince. Puddy puddy - Mummy got a take-away cake, we got ice-cream from a special ice-cream shop - amazing!

Got home, had mangosteen, a fashion show, read and then sleep!

What a day! What an anniversary!

2018-07-09 - Bali: Day 1 - Arrival

We travelled on Jetstar and it went pretty quick  - on arrival a man hogged the window so we couldn't see much - seriously dude!

So nice to be warm and to smell the smells. Maddie our driver took 90 minutes to get to DD Ubud Villa. He was such a nice driver!

Perhaps the most spectacular jungle hut we have ever stayed in! It also had an amazing infinity pool.
Both huts were set in the jungle with wonderful views, and it was so steep that they had some great steps ready to be stepped along in the morning! The girls will love it!

Spent a while by the pool, then Madi drove us to Ubud. Everyone was trying to sell us rafting tickets-Some cheaper than others. Went around some temples first and then the markets-lots of people were not successful getting us to buy-think we were just too tired!

Started to rain heavily, so we popped into a Warung for curry, fish and noodles.

Observations:
- there were so many kites flying in the sky
- Night sounds were amazing
- A lot of Europeans, and a lot of smokers!
- crazy roads once again
- wonderful rain forest with really thick trees
- sculptures everywhere-wooden and stone
