2019-03-09 My Kayak Birthday Party! Drone on Trigg
Clara: I finally found time to have my birthday party. We decided that Matilda, Jasmine and Aaliyah would come round on Saturday evening and we would go to Yanchep for a BBQ - it was really funny, and we went for a walk in the dark to see the koalas.
We didn't get much sleep that night, and we had to be at our kayaks at 11am in Perth on the river. It was so much fun - we started off crossing the river to an island in the middle, then went across to an inlet where we swam across and jumped off the jetty. It was pretty tiring kayaking all the way back. Daddy got some good drone footage of us.
We got home and spent the rest of the afternoon in the pool and at the park. It was a fun birthday with my friends!
Aiysha: It was fun having Clara's friends around, and on the Monday we all went down to Trigg. It was around 37 degrees, and we took our body boards. The waves picked up loads while we were there. I tried to surf while Dad got some drone footage of me (I'm the one with the PINK board!), but I caught no waves AND he got told off by the life guard! It was fun though.
C: It was so much fun going out on the river!
S: Drone footage was so cool! I can't believe it is banned in Stirling! Boring!
2019-02-24 MDC Retreat, Final Trials, Drone at the Beach, Log Collection, Wests Training Starts
Aiysha: So many people from Neddies have joined Wests! It is so exciting! We had our first training this week and it was pretty hard, but fun. Daddy even got some drone footage.
We also took the drone to the beach on Sunday evening - we saw Evo, Nadia, Savea and Andra there too which was funny. The drone footage was really good - now I can add it to my Dunsborough video!
We went on the Year 12 Retreat in the Swan Valley and it was very emotional for a lot of people, but a lot of fun. People did open up much more and our group was very lively where everyone got involved. We had a new teacher who got to know us so well. It is a shame we didn't do this last year. I read my letter from my family, and I wrote them each a letter - it was so nice! There were some pretty sad stories from some people though - just shows how lucky some of us are!
Clara: I've now finished my TACT and Hammersley trials - phew! Now time to get my knee sorted!
S: My first golf day for the AHA at Joondalup Resort. It was fun, and I lost a lot of balls.
Log collection time!
2019-02-17 Leavers Ball, Even More Trials, 6km Runs.Swimming Carnival!
Roxy: We all went on a 6km run on Thursday, but my knee didn't go well at all, so I had to take Voltaren again, which is so annoying. We had our last TACT trials and another Hammersley one - they were pretty fun. It was the final trial, so I will find out whether I am part of either this coming week.
I was so proud of my swimming carnival. Although my breast stroke didn't go too well, I came second in my freestyle and won my backstroke! Wahoo! I think I may get into ACC!
Aiysha: My kicking is slowly getting there. I'm spending my breaks compiling my Dunsborough and Skiing videos - they are so cool to do, so many great memories!
I won my breast stroke and came second in my freestyle which was I was pretty proud of!
The Leavers Ball was so much fun! I started getting ready in the afternoon, and I went with Harrison who came to pick me up at around 5ish. It was funny. The pre-ball was nice and we all walked down the red carpet, and then we got the bus to Kings Park. We had so much fun, and we stayed up all night with the after-ball at Keeley's place. I managed to stay up though! Mummy came to pick me up at 5.30am - unlucky!
C: Paish looked so grown up and pretty! So proud of you!
S: I'm glad I chose the dress for you Paish - you owe me one!
2019-02-10 State Touch Championships, Paua Rose Trials
Aiysha: It was the States again, and I was playing for Rosalie which I was not looking forward to. The first day was not great and we lost all our games, even to Northern Territory. We didn't really do much better, although after watching my videos and talking to Dad, my game improved so much over the three days that on the last day I was playing the best ever! I set up a try and scored too. We did win our last game, ironically that was the only game Eric did not coach.
Really enjoyed my trials for Paua Rose, and I found out later that I am in U18 Team 1, which is awesome! It is such a good team!
Clara: It was fun watching the States, but it was such a shame Aiysha's team wasn't coached well. Good job Paish though!
C: It was fun watching, but I think they could have done so much better! Well played Paish!
S: Well done Paish, you were so tired but played so well considering. Let's see how we go next year. It's all about the learning!
The 40s played so well and got to the semi finals - they lost to Northern, but did so well. They could have won, but didn't quite keep their form. Maybe next year I could have a go?
