2020-10-04 Daddy's Birthday, Semi Finals vs Cott, TACT State Champs!

Clara: What an amazing tournament! I was so looking forward to it, and it was finally here!

The weather was not great, and on the Monday it was pouring down with rain during our final round game, but luckily we played the final inside the stadium which was awesome!

The first day was really nice as we played teams that we thought we could beat, and we managed to come out on top in all of them which was a great start.

The second day we had our toughest challenge against Freo who beat us in the final last year in extra time. We treated this like the final as they had 4 state players in their team. It was a really close and rough game, but in the end we managed to come out on top by 2 which was amazing! This game also put Fremantle in a position where they almost could not qualify for the final.

For our last game we played Perth, but we lost it because we were all exhausted and that we didn't actually have to win. If we lost, it also made sure Fremantle were out of the final, which was a great result and we would much rather play Perth than Freo!

Final day the weather was awful - I came on in the second half of the first game just to get some rhythm ready for the final. The final was crazy! Most of the crowd were against us as they wanted Perth to win. We started with a couple of turnovers and went down early on, but after a few minutes we got into our rhythm, and the whole team started to play well. Our shooters did not miss, and our passing and moving was just how we wanted it. Our defenders did so well too. As we started to get a bit of a lead, Perth started making mistakes and also get a bit rougher which worked into our favour. It was such an enjoyable game, and in the end we won by 5!

Aiysha: This week we played our semi-final against Cottesloe at Associates Rugby Club. I twinged my hamstring on Wednesday, so I was frantically trying to get it ready for the game. I decided to start the game, and even managed to score a try even though I was desperately trying to pass to someone! I took a knock on the head and suddenly had a migraine, so I had to come off which was such a shame!

In the end we won 31-12 which was great, but the second half was a little messy. We are now in the final, so I need to get fit for that! Hopefully my head is okay.

Last week we played our last game against Kala, and the first 25 minutes were great! Then the storms came in, and everything went nuts! Even the team tent blew down! We finally won it 14-12 as we got both our conversions - Pare and Lillie both scored - Lillie with an amazing try by stripping the ball and running half the field!

S: A win was a great present on my birthday. However, the girls were so sweet with their plans! We had pancakes in the morning, and then I received 3 awesome presents - some beautiful soap, an awesome surfboard, and The Augustines LP that made me so tearful. Best present ever! Thanks guys!

C: Happy Birthday Snoobs!

2020-09-20 We Won Netball Finals! Stormy Beach Walk, Cottesloe Round 3, ACC Athletics Carnival

Rox: We won the U15 Div 1 Grand Final! We played Mia's team Hammersley 14, the second team, and we were a bit nervous about it. They were very determined to win, and half our team had never played a grand final before!

We managed to do really well though and hold our composure, and in the end we won by 15, which was comfortable. It was so nice to win the final!

I was one of two players to play the whole game - I was so lucky! I have really enjoyed this season, and can't wait for TACT next week!

We went for the craziest walk along the beach in huge winds - so powerful the sand was hurting our faces! Daddy had to get the car and pick us up while we hid away from the sand! Funny!

We had our ACC carnival, and it went really well apart from the 1500m. I hadn't done too much stamina, but tried to keep with the leading pack - mistake! They were so fast I ran myself out so early on I could hardly finish! That is a tactic I will not repeat! I came around 4th in the 100m, and 4th in the 400m, and 2nd in the relay. It was a fun day though and Dad watched it all.

Paish: We played Cottesloe Round 3 - another game I had to miss due to my knee - luckily it is only bruising and not anything worse! Cottesloe played well, and they definitely brought the game to us. They scored within the first minute, but we managed to convert a few scores and come out on top. It was a messy game and we need to take control more.

S: Great effort Rox at ACC, and you played an amazing final! Can't wait for TACT!

C: Amazing Rox! You played awesome!

2020-09-06 Round 2 vs Kala, Friday at Yelo, Toby! Daddy's Knee Operation

Aiysha: Ouch, the Kala game looked painful. I wasn't able to play, and we hardly touched the ball at all the whole game. The one time we did we drove in the forwards, and we scored. However, our team were down and out, injuries were hitting us, and we had no come-back. We lost by around 30 points. Pretty disappointing considering we won the first game so well. A lot of work to do.

There was initiations after which was fun - we did a Mexican thing.

Dad and I went to Yelo after his knee operation - it was lovely!

Rox: Toby! Toby is Callie's boyfriend forever! They love each other! Our netball is going well, and we are still top of the table after beating everyone. I'm really enjoying it and playing WA and C which is ideal!

S: I had my left knee meniscus operation finally! Such a relief to finally have it done - hope it recovers well!

C: You are playing so well Rox, so proud of you!

2020-08-15 Round 1 vs Kala, Round 2 vs Cottesloe, Knee Injury, Daddy's Finger Injury, Dwellingup Camping - My Car!

Aiysha: We played our first game against Kala, and it was hectic! We struggled to keep hold of the ball and they played really well, securing around 80% possession. However, when we had the ball in open play, I managed to score twice! This kept us in the lead, and we managed to come through with a win, but it was hard going.

The next weekend we played Cottesloe in Round 2, and we had the worst referee in the world! Her name was Frieda, and she hates Wanneroo - there is a long history, and she made so many calls against us it was ridiculous. We did manage to win convincingly, but at times it was pretty dangerous - one girl grabbed my hair and the referee called a knock-on! The lines-woman had to tell her to change her decision.

In the last two minutes I got caught awkwardly, and twisted my knee, so had to be carried off. I'm getting it checked out, but hoping it isn't too serious!

After the game I went down to Dwellingup to go camping and 4-wheel driving. But my car broke down in Mandurah! Ah man! What a hassle! Had to leave it there, and see what happens. It didn't stop me having an awesome few days though with some great footage!

Rox: We won our game again and managed to catch Paish's Kala game - well played Paish! Amazing tries! Hope your knee is okay though.

S: Moomis and I took Callie for a walk to Mater Dei, and she bolted for some birds towards Joondalup Drive! We managed to stop her just before the road, but the birds started to fly across the road - I had to dive for her lead, and managed to get hold of her, but my finger did not look right. Ah well, let's join the Roxy club and stick a splint on it! She'll be right!

C: I tidied up our back garden now that our fence has been fixed up - looks great!

2020-08-08 Windscreen Attack, First Rugby Game + Team Bonding, I'm Back at Netball!

Rox: I had my second game of netball today against Saints - we won 40-19, and I played Centre for two quarters and WA for one - it was so much fun and such a good level of netball! I love my team. Last week I was so nervous on my first game back. We played Everlast Flames but won fairly easily 53-22. I only played two quarters as I needed to settle back in. My first quarter was not great, but when I went on again I felt really comfortable.

We were driving back from my physic on Thursday when a huge rock hit us as we were driving under a bridge! It was so scary! Luckily Mummy stayed completely calm and managed to pull over. We called the police and Daddy, and managed to get home, but the windscreen was ruined, and we were really lucky it did not go straight through. It was so dangerous.

Paish: Last week we played a Cottesloe team that were struggling for numbers, but we helped them make a side. We just wanted to play and we won 49-5, but we managed to play a decent game. In the backs we managed to execute some great moves! Tamika and I managed to score a hat-trick each which was lots of fun. I played outside-half, and Pare played scrum-half which was great. Our team this year is so much more exciting than last year because we are so young, but we just need teams to play against!

I went out for Kay's birthday breakfast, then went surfing, and then pretty much stayed out all day with Kay. We ended up at the 10s North vs South rugby in the evening which was really cold, but great to watch.

Before our first game we had a team bonding day down by the river where we played loads of games that Frieda and I came up with, well, mostly Frieda. It was really funny!

I went camping up at Quinns Rocks after with Jenna and a couple of others which was cool as I drove onto the beach for the first time. I definitely know the limits of my car now.

C: That rock was so scary! I can't believe people would do that!

Rox was a star on the netball court, Benny was a star on the rugby field - perfect start to the sporting season!

S: So exciting to see the coaching come together in a game. Just hoping there will be a cohesive tournament this season, as we have such a good team!

2020-07-24 My Finger Is Fixed! Silly doctors!

Roxy: It has been such a stressful week! We saw some really annoying doctors! Firstly Doctor Marsh who told us to do an MRI, but it should have been an ultrasound! The the OT person said she wasn't happy with the bend in my finger, so it could be another 8 weeks!  We did the ultrasound, then Dr Stewart said that there was only one ultrasound person could scan my finger properly, so we had to go see him. Ridiculous! Daddy was not happy with these jokers. David Moala said I was fine, and we are all going to believe him - yay!

Had a crazy dog walk - it was a beautiful day and EVERYONE was down there - Charlie, Cooper, Pip, Marley, and so many others - it was so much fun at Emerald!

Made some funny videos of Daddy - crazy!

Paish: Pulled my hamstring on Tuesday doing sprint training - ah man! Can't wait for 15s to start!

Callie: Give me MORE Emerald!

C: These videos are classic - so funny!

S: I was so angry at the doctors - the first video shows this perfectly!

2020-07-19 Two Weeks of 10s - Hard Work! Finger almost there! Bedroom makeovers! Amazing Quinns Rock Walk...

Paish: Wow, playing 10s is hard! Especially when we don't have any subs at all! I was aching after the first weekend at Cottesloe, and I could hardly move after the second weekend at UWA! It was so much fun though, and great to finally play some games. We lost against Neddies and Kala, but only just. We have a brand new side, and it is so exciting to be playing with Wanneroo!

Rox: My finger is looking good! I am really looking after it!

Dad and I took Callie to Quinns Rocks for a walk, and we met two amazing dogs - Atlas and Milo, and they played for ages together - it was so much fun! It was such a beautiful evening too!

Mummy spent a lot of the holiday painting our bedrooms, and Paish moved into the spare room! I finally got my double bed to go with my new look room - it looks awesome!

C: The rugby was so much fun to watch! Paish played so well - they all did!

S: Divas played awesome, especially the backs when they had no subs at all, and had to cope with a new set of forwards each quarter. Amazing, and so exciting to watch!

Went to visit Richard's Hemp Lab - very cool.

2020-06-28 I am 18! How did that happen?

Paish: I can't believe I am 18! That is hectic! It's gonna be fun! We celebrated by going out to Northbridge to our favourite Chinese - it was sooo nice! Had my favourite duck dish which was very messy!

Mummy made me a chocolate log cake, and decorated the lounge - it was so cool!

I can finally do stuff that all my friends can do now, which is so cool!

Me and Dad recorded a tutorial video for Divas - it was very funny, but well received.

I had the coolest 18th celebration with my friends though - I booked a really big house down in Yallingup for 18 of my friends, and we all drove down and spent 4 nights in this beautiful place - apparently a lot of famous people stayed there (Eddie Vedder, Rolling Stones), and it had the most amazing views! It was being sold, so we were the second last visitors to stay there before it was to be sold. I will never forget this birthday, that's for sure!

Rox: Bella and Callie are pretty good friends at the moment! We try to meet up every so often, which is nice, and they have started to bring her down to Emerald.

Callie: I like Emerald, and I love Winston!

S: Dumpling time for BF!

2020-06-19 Broken Finger, Netball is Back, Freo Walkabout, Pot Stickers, Pushups Finished!

Clara: Ah man! After just one training session back at netball, guess what I do? I go and break my finger at footy! I'm now off for 6 weeks, but luckily I only miss 4 games if I recover well! Hopefully by then everyone will be able to come and watch.

Just before I did my finger I went for a super-cool bush ride with Dad - we did 2 sections up Burns Beach - pretty hard, but fun!

We did our first attempt at Pot Stickers - they were so yummy! We had to adjust how they were cooked, but once we figured it out, they were great!

Aiysha: Dad and I spent a day driving round! We were meant to go down to Freo to see one of his clients, but he took me for a surprise visit to Suzishop to get my 2nd hand roof racks! It was a crazy shop! I can't wait to fit them! We then went to see Cody who build his own motorbike shop in a warehouse with a mezzanine sleeping space too - it was amazing!

It poured down with rain, and everything seemed to be shut so we went for a Grilled lunch, which was nice.

C: So sorry Rox about your finger! It will heal in no time! If all goes well, you will only miss 4 games! Fingers, er, crossed!

S: I took my drone out to Connect Source which was pretty fun - same day as Katie was doing her photo session. I am out seeing clients again but not going nuts at all - so nice tapering back my driving! Walk with AJ which was awesome along Edgewater Lake - great to see him again.
