2022-11-28 Junior State Champs Champions! U17 Fever Futures - I got in! Buddy!

 

Rox: We had the final trial at GNC, and I managed to get in with the other 3 All Australians, which is so cool! I am so excited about this tour! I'm sad only one of the twinnies got in, but it is shaping up to be a really great team!

We also had the Junior State Champs at McGillivray Stadium. I was playing u18 and we only really had 2 training sessions, Macey and Tara were our coaches who were excellent. We managed to win every game - we had 3 games on the Saturday, and 3 games on the Sunday. I was captain and I was voted MVP for the final with Brodie. Mackenzie got MVP for the whole weekend which was right because she played really well!

Paish: Taking a break from rugby for a couple of weeks to try and get my leg right, so will be missing the Force trials. You team was so good Roxy, the other teams didn't really stand a chance.

C: Well done Rox! Amazing tournament, and we got to have our sneaky Indian IGA!

We had Buddy with us for a few days this week - he injured one of his back legs, so couldn't really walk for long or run, but he was very cute and tried to do lots of things.

S: Love seeing Buddy! He kept Callie company while we watched Roxy play.

2022-11-15 Caslick Cup Uni Series All Stars! Care Bear Cup Round 2

Paish: I was so excited to be going back to Brisbane to represent the All Stars! I was worried about my knee as it still wasn't 100%, but I think I could play on it. We arrived on a Tuesday, and spent 3 days training together - the first day was a bit awkward, but after that we got to know each other which was really fun.

In the tournament, we met some pretty tough teams and we just lost to a couple of team, but when it came to the play-offs we had to play teams in the other pool. We managed to beat the top team, which meant we went into the semis, and we only JUST won that game which was super exciting and went right up to the last minute! We were pretty worn out by the time we hit the final against Bond. We didn't mind losing, we gave it such a good go, and coming second was amazing!

It was such a great experience I was so lucky to be there and really makes me want to push for so much more!

Rox: Amazing job Paish! You played so well! Super proud of you!

S: Well done Paish considering your knee - I think if you get the opportunity again, you would have more confidence to really have a go yourself if you were 100%! Amazing effort though!

We had Round 2 of the Care Bear Cup - games night! Another funny evening where the girls really got to know each other! Megan and Mackenzie really showed they are a force to be reckoned with! However, Cassie and Karls won the evening!

C: So proud of you Paish, and so glad your knee was okay at the end!

2022-10-31 AON 7s Round 3, Szechuan, U17 Trials, Hamersley Wind Up, Care Bear Cup Round 1

 

Paish: I struggled to get the back of my knee ready for the last round, and we had so many injuries! It is such a shame as we had a really good chance if we had our full team. We didn't win many matches, and managed to win our play-off which allowed us to scrape in to 3rd place - we were pretty relieved about that as we didn't think we would place!

Myself, Nicole, Rosie and Tamika got selected for the All Stars team too, which means we get to go on another tour to a 7s tournament in Brisbane in a couple of weeks, which is so exciting! I need to get my leg right for that!

S: Well done Paish, what a tournament! You played so well over all 3 rounds, which was incredible! Well done on your selection!

Round 1 of the Care Bear Cup - a treasure hunt at Garvey Park, was so funny! Paish and Cassie won it, but we had such a laugh all round!

C: It was so exciting to watch Paish! Well done.

We had our u17s State Trials, which was really interesting - it is now called Fever Futures, and is taken a lot more seriously! We had the first round, and I don't think I played too well. There were quite a few good players there, but a lot of people I knew, which was nice. I hope Aaliyah gets in!

2022-10-18 WA Schools All Stars Tournament! AON Round 2! New Barn Doors!

 

C: Not another win for you Rox! You were not meant to win this one - the All Starts CASS tournament! Each game was so close, and you beat some amazing teams! You played incredible, and I wish Dad recorded it!

S: Man I wish I recorded it! I had no idea how good it was going to be!

Well done coming 3rd Paish - you scored some great tries! Even though you missed players, I still think you can take out Bond!

Dad finally got new barn doors for the garage - they look amazing! About time too!

Paish: We managed to secure 3rd place by beating Newcastle in the 3 vs 4 play-off. I really enjoyed this tournament too, but hurt my knee which is really annoying! We had a chance to get into the 1 vs 2 play-off, but lost a silly game at the start of the weekend we should not have lost. We did well though considering we were missing a few players from last week too.

Rox: Crazy tournament which we perhaps should not have won, but we did! Awesome! So much fun! Dad should have videos it, even though I forgave him, still think he should have!

2022-10-09 Fever In Time, Aon Round 1

Paish: I was so excited about AON! We had Dylan Parsons as our coach and he is brilliant! We flew over to Canberra, and had a great team, and managed to come 2nd to Bond University! It was such a great tournament, and Dylan was very proud of the way we played. If we play like that in the next two rounds, we could win it! I'm actually starting to like 7s, would you believe! All the games are here:

Rox: We won Fever In Time! It was such a fun tournament, and the two teams that should have been tough we ended up winning quite easily. We beat Central in the round games, and in the final we beat South by a lot of points which was nice. I did enjoy playing WD, but hoped I would attack more - oh well. It was so much fun anyway.

C: What a tournament Rox! You played amazing! Well done Aaliyah too!

Paish, you played so well - the best 7s we've seen you play! Keep it up - 2nd is amazing!

S: Amazing performance Paish, your team played so well, and you had such a great first round! So proud of you!

Amazing weekend Roxy Roo! You played out of your skin, and your team was amazing! So good seeing you play with Aaliyah too! You worked so well together! Shame you mostly played WD, but you made a heap of intercepts - nice work!

2022-10-05 Dad's Birthday down South! Flash Beach Touch

 S: So much fun going down south for my birthday! We stayed at our dog friendly property but in a bigger house which was lovely! I managed to surf on my birthday, but I wasn't very good. We got some go-pro footage, and we also saw whales migrating along the coast. We went for one run along the beach, and I smashed the girls who ran together - that must have been a first! Thank you guys for such an awesome time away!

We had our first flash beach touch session which was so funny! I ended up playing on Jenna and Candice's team, and we were in the finals playoff and lost unfortunately to Taimania's team, but it was a lot of fun.

Paish: The Beach touch was so funny! Going down south was so chilled and relaxing! I loved it! We played board games in the evening too which got pretty heated in the end, but funny.

Rox: We thought we had the parental in the games, but they came back strong and won all games apart from the first night. Boo!

C: I love going down south! It was so much fun, and so relaxing.

Callie: I love travelling! It is so cool!

2022-09-25 Maori Tournament, Wests Awards Evening, Dumplings and Cheesecake again!

 

Rox: My second Maori tournament with Chevy's team - we had a pretty good team, but not many of us! We only had one sub, but we managed to win all our games on the first day.

The second day we also won all our games, and met Haley's team in the final which we won. It was so much fun, and quite a few of us got selected for the All Stars team. So much fun!

Dad and I went for dumplings on a day off, and I tried the cheesecake - it was amazing!

Paish: I was so looking forward to the Wests Awards Evening, but Dad was sick! He ended up being ill from the Maori tournament and could not go, which was such a shame as he was going to present to me my Fairest and Best award! We did record a message for him from all the girls though.

The night was so much fun! Everyone looked so pretty. Hannah got most improved which was well deserved!

C: I love the Maori tournament - Rox you played so well with your team, it was so much fun to watch. Well done winning the tournament, so much fun to watch.

S: Gutted I missed the Wests Awards Evening, but I was not well at all. Must have been that Dagwood Dog - never again!

2022-09-18 Grand Finals vs Steelers, Paddleboarding on the River, Szechuan Fish and Cheesecake!

 

Rox: We had our Grand Final match against Steelers today - we were up to beat them, but it was a bit odd as we had a different coach even though our main coach was there, and the combinations that beat Steelers in the 1st Round play-off changed. Mainly it was Jacinta who didn't get to play much, which was such a struggle for me as she was amazing in the semi-final and was a major part of that win. I was a bit sad that she didn't play, and we didn't link up well in the mid-court like Jacinta and I normally did. In the end we lost which was a disappointing end to the season.

Mummy, Daddy and I went paddle-boarding on Sunday down by the river - it was so nice, and the water was so still. When Dad paddled in, I tried to help him in, but pushed a little too hard and made him fall in - it was the funniest video - make sure you watch it!

Paish: Unlucky sissy! You played so well!

C: Well done Rox - it was tough not having Jacinta there the whole game! You played so well though!

Me and Dodos went out to Northbridge to try the Szechuan Fish - I wasn't sure, but when I tasted it, I could not believe how nice it was! Apparently the first time I tried it a couple of years ago I didn't like it, but not now! It was amazing, and we shared the full dish and had rice, and had some eggplant, but we didn't need it. We also decided to treat ourselves with an Asian cheesecake, which was perhaps the nicest cheesecake we've ever had! It was incredible. We had the strawberry one, but there were so many to choose from - we'll definitely come back. Rox will love it!

S: Disappointing game - certainly didn't flow like the last time you played against them! What a shame. Well played though, a great season!

Amazing fish - the best! Uncle Dave will love it too! The cheesecake was unreal! We are so spoilt!
