2018-10-14 Emerging Force Exhibition, Dance Exam Results, Channel 9, Yanchep BBQ, Super Series Starts!

Clara: We went into the city to be on Channel 9 News! Mia's Dad Basil organised it, and it was so much fun. We were interviewed, got to go in the studios.

I got Honours for all my dance exams which I am really pleased about, and I am so exciting about being in 8 dances in the End of Year Concert!

We went to Yanchep for our first BBQ of the summer - we were the only people there. We went hunting for kangaroos, and tried to scare Daddy by hiding in the bushes and throwing twigs at him - then we jumped out! It was funny, and we did scare him. We wanted to play Take-2, but forgot to bring it - doh!

Aiysha: I played an exhibition game at the Force vs Fiji half time with the Emerging Force girls - it was fun, and I was on a cool team and we won one try to nil - we only had 5 minutes, but it was fun. The mens Force lost to Fiji, even though they were dominating for a lot of it. There were some great tries!

I didn't go to Yanchep - I went to see First Man with Jai and Ethan - it was really good, and fun! It wasn't free though, as it was a Saturday night and could not use vouchers.

We had Super Series today, and we lost to Southern and Fremantle. I thought I played okay, but we need to get a lot better if we are going to win games this season!

C: I actually enjoyed watching the rugby! Both mens and Paish!

S: I love Yanchep! It was fun and amazing we were the only ones there!

2018-10-07 Cadets Cup Champions! Hitting the beach!

Aiysha: What a weekend! I was unsure how we were going to go in the Cadets Cup, as I felt this team was not as good as last year - but how wrong I was!

For some reason, I was positioned at WD, even though I was vice captain. For the whole of the first day, and for the first 2 games on Sunday, I was placed there, and I struggled. I did get to play Centre and WA a couple of times, but not much. Fortunately, we managed to gel so well together as a team, and we convincingly beat every team on the first day - all 5 games! The last game was against Demons who were going to be the toughest side, and they were very dirty. We managed to hold out by one point, which was really cool, as we didn't like them at all. The best thing was how well the team were playing, and there were no weaknesses at all!

We qualified for the final by winning our last two games on Sunday, and we were playing Demon's again! I didn't think I was actually going to get a game, as I was WD the whole time, but when it came to announcing the team, my coach selected my to go WA! I was so happy! Rhythm was C, Zoe was WD, and it was the perfect combination! We absolutely loved it, and tore the other team apart - it was so exciting. A lot of their players were also state players, which was even funnier! I was happy with my half, and thought I'd be coming off, but the coach then put me on as C! It was so much fun, and I loved every minute even though I was soooo tired. We won the final by 15 in the end!

Dad and I have been hitting the beach a lot over the past couple of weeks - so much fun! I'm trying to surf again - FAIL!

Clara: Aiysha, you played amazing! It was so much fun to watch. So proud of you! I can't wait to play this next year!

C: What a tournament, what a team! The coach was very clever, and made Paish very happy. You played amazing Paish!

S: What a weekend! So much fun, and we're going to miss you not playing next year Paish! Well done, very impressive!

2018-10-03 Daddy's Birthday!

Clara: It was Daddy's birthday, but we had the renovators round to do the bathroom, so we couldn't do much in the morning. However, we did go for Dim Sum, and Daddy and Mummy went for a walk in the bush on Friday! It was fun though, and he enjoyed himself.

Aiysha: Happy Birthday Dad!

C:  Happy Birthday Doodis! Bathroom almost done!

S: Happy Birthday to me! It was a lovely day, and thanks for all the nice words and pressies, and the walk!

2018-09-25 Royal Show, Dance Comp, Burning Fruit in Rockingham

Clara: I had my performance at the Royal Show and my dance comp - I felt it went well, but I didn't place unfortunately. The Royal Show was a bit crowded though, and not enough space on stage. It was fun though.

Aiysha: Well done on your dancing Rox!

C: Well done Roxy on your dancing! You did well!

S: We spent a few days down in Rockingham as I have a project with the City of Rockingham. Apart from interviewing people and seeing the City, we played baseball, and played a lot of Take 2 and other games. It was fun!

Great dancing Rox!

2018-09-16 Netball Champions! Faction Champion! What a week!

Clara: What a week this was! It was the Faction Carnival this week, and we had jumps and throws on Wednesday, and the big carnival on Friday. I was so nervous about both, and just wanted to do well enough so I could achieve my target of Champion Girl.

I managed to win long jump, with 3.84m, not my longest jump, but it was pretty good. On long throw, it was pretty close, but managed to do a really big throw on my last throw to win it. I was pretty relieved.

On the Carnival Day, I had to put all my special training in place, and I almost got back to my sprinting. Jacinta beat me and I came second, but I was pretty happy with my run and I had progressed so much since the beginning of the year. I still have a long way to go.

On Saturday, we had our netball grand final against Hammersley. It was always going to be tough, and it was! We managed to equal after the first quarter, and I was playing GA. In the second quarter we were up by 2, third quarter we were up by 4, and then in the last quarter we won by 7, winning 28-21. It was an amazing game, and even better against Hammersley.

It was Mr. Gray's last carnival, as he is retiring - I'm going to miss him, and Edgewater PS will not be the same without him. I'm lucky to have had him all these years. Good luck Mr Gray!

Aiysha: Amazing win against Hammersley Clara, and amazing result being Champion Girl! You're a star! It was fun being a helper on the day - my last one! Boo hoo!

Unfortunately we didn't make finals at all,

C: So proud of everything you've achieved this year Clara - amazing!

S: Awesome game, and what a journey for your team and your running! So proud of you!

2018-09-09 Wests Presidents Player of the Club + MVP, Westcoasters Coaches Awards

Aiysha: I couldn't believe it! Dad and I went to the Wests presentation award on Saturday after the end of the season, and I got awarded two prizes! One was MVP which I was really pleased about, but then I got called up by Matt who presented me with the Presidents Player of the Club, out of all the teams in the whole club! It was amazing! We also got some money to go towards our tours, which was a brilliant surprise! I'll be staying at Wests next year.

On top of all that, I got the coaches award from Jason for our Westcoasters team, which I am really proud of. Thanks Jason!

Clara: I got the coaches award at Westcoasters for my netball team, which was awesome! Emma got MVP. We also got these big letters representing our names so everyone could write on them, and we also got a letter from Judy, which was very special. I loved this year!

C: Amazing guys! You worked so hard for all of these! We are so proud.

S: Ross's and my u11 team were great, and we loved coaching them. No awards for us, but it was great to see them at the wind up!

What a year girls! Amazing!

2018-09-08 Another Amazing Netball Win, Rugby Finals, First Run, Our Assembly!

Clara: We had the most amazingly convincing game against Everlast Flames! Myself, Mia and Maddie started off on the first quarter, and we were 6 down by the first quarter. We came on, and we managed to pull back to 3 down by half time. I moved from GS to GA, and by the 3rd quarter we were up by 4 and then we finished the game 55-38, which was amazing! I would not have believed it, but we played so well, and with such confidence, it felt great! It was even better than last week, and it felt amazing!

If we play this well next week against Hammersley, we have a chance!

I've been training hard on my sprinting this week, and it seems like it is really coming together. Working on my starts too with Matt which really helps.

I went with Jaia to Latitude, which was awesome!

On Friday we finally had our assembly we've been rehearsing for and keeping secret for weeks! It turned out really well, and it was really funny! The whole play lasted around an hour, and no one forgot their lines. Everyone was hilarious, and was such good fun. Well done everyone!

Aiysha: We had our rugby finals today, and I could not wait to play. Neddies played Swans first, and lost, so we had to play Neddies. I thought we played really well, and we managed to score off a break I made. The best thing about my game today was my tackling, and it felt good! In the second half, we conceeded one more try, and we lost 3 tries to one, which was such a shame. We made some simple mistakes, and I am sure if we didn't, we could have won! We ended on a good note, and we played our best team, and I was happy.

The final was amazing though, so many tries, and Neddies had played one extra game, and came back to win it in the second half. It was a rough game and great to watch - they did well!

Australia just beat SA tonight too - 23-18! It was close!

Claire: What an amazingly exciting game to watch - go Roxy Roo!

Steve: Did my first 6km run in 18 months - a bit slow (38.10), but I finished it. Roxy rode her bike next to me, which was nice, but kept missing giving me my drink bottle.

What an amazing netball game against Everlast - they had no answer to us at all - amazing play Rox!
