2021-01-16 Dad's Return To Touch, 6km MDC Run, Movie, Trigg Surfing, First Job Interview Ever!

Rox: On Friday afternoon we hit Trigging - Paish wasn't convinced, but it was good enough to catch a few waves! Good job Dad and I convinced her!

Paish: Hard week training every day! I also had my first proper interview at Perth Radiology! Mummy has been helping me all week, and I think I did okay. We'll see! Thanks Mum!

C: Great movie - Promising Young Woman! Good choice doody!

Had an amazing walk with Callie at Quinns Rocks today - she looked a lot better than yesterday after her vaccinations, and she did some swimming! Go Callie!

S: Did two great training sessions this week - up uphill session in the park, and a 6km run around MDC - it felt great! I think I'm ready for touch! I played on Tuesday and Thursday and survived both. I scored twice on Thursday for Hakuna Matata too! Very happy.

2021-01-09 Albany to Perth. The Gap, Goodbye To The Harveys

Woke up around 8.30am to pack up, which we did pretty successfully. We went to the yacht club to say goodbye to Caroline and Emily who was still sailing, then went to The Gap, which was pretty cool and what Daddy was wanting to visit yesterday. It was amazing to see both the swell and the rock bridge. Paish and Dad went first, and could have stayed a lot longer. We had to pay now, whereas before we didn't when Dad came here with Grandad Brian and Grandma Sik.

Finally, we headed to Nick's to get some drone footage and say goodbye - shame we didn't get to spend more time there! Great to see them though.

Long drive up, but we did it in 6 hours, stopping off to get some pies and not so nice coffee in Kojinup.

Nice to be back in the Perth warmth again, and after we unpacked and before dinner, we hit the pool which was lovely!

What a trip! So fun! Can't wait for our next one!

2021-01-08 Run without Rox, Mutton Bird Beach, Denmark, Elephant Rock / Greens Pools, Soft Serve Choc Top

Another packed day! This holiday ain't relaxing!

Paish and Daddy had to go barefoot running without Rox today - they managed to do 4.4km at a relatively good pace - well done guys! They also ran through a few moves which was very helpful.

After that we drove to Elephant Rocks / Green Pools, but Daddy thought it was somewhere else, so was a little disappointed. It was also crowded, so Rox didn't like it either. Callie was not suppose to be in the national park, but we hid her in the car. We decided to get a soft serve, and Daddy was such a dumbo - he ordered his with a choc top that he couldn't eat! AND it was the last one - DUMBO! He gave it to Mummy.

We stopped off famished in Denmark, but everywhere was shut as we were a bit late. We finally got snacks at IGA and headed to the local park for a feed - it was such an unexpectedly nice lunch!

After lunch we headed to Mutton Bird beach which was amazing at around sunset! We walked on the rocks, waded through rock pools, and took a load of pictures of the huge swells. It was very cool.

Daddy made us noodles when we got in, and we were all pretty exhausted so we got to bed early, knowing we were up early to pack.

2021-01-07 Tent, Frenchman Bay, Paddle boarding, Our New Home, Coffees, Windsurfing, Hospital (Thu)

Not a great morning's sleep in! Ah well.  We decided that we wanted to have a go at paddle boarding, so we loaded up the paddle board and headed out to Frenchman Bay, and after going the wrong way, got there. The girls and Luke went to the calm side of the beach, but Mummy and Daddy went for a walk with Callie without a doggie bag - oops! Nick and Chris went squid fishing and caught, wait for it, nothing!

We decided to move into our new house which was not as upmarket as our Esperance house, but had a huge yard for Callie! We finally grabbed some snacks from Coles, ate them on our balcony table, and the headed out to the yacht club just as the wind was dropping! It was good enough for learners - Rachel was out, and I decided to have a go with Chris' board. The wind was very light on. Roxy finally had a go, and soon after she started, I saw her with blood running down her face - I carried on, but Nick came out to bring her back to Mummy who decided she needed stitches!

Poor Roxy! It was funny though, as Mummy had to help with the operation, well, the glueing. No more sweating or water sports for Rox for at least 4 days!

We finally left A & E around 8, went to Nick's to say hello, then headed straight out to get Fish and Chips! Got there just in time, but realised with got 8 pieces instead of 4! It was their standard as they said, so a bit of a waste! It was yummy though!

What a day!

2021-01-06 Esperance to Albany

Wow, what a drive! We finally packed up and left by 10.30 (after Paish lost a washer) , and stopped off in Ravensthorpe to get some sweets and some meat pies (Mummy had to have snacks) and learned all about Ravensthorpe while we had lunch. We stopped off at what we thought was Bremer Bay, but was actually the campsite beach. Had a cool walk with Callie there, and it was really windy!

Finally arrived at Albany at around 8pm, and the Harveys prepared a lovely curry for us! Chris and Rachel were there with their two kids. We were pretty worn out, so we packed ourselves into the tent they set up for us with Callie, and the girls were in the swag.

Come morning, there was no shade from the light so Callie was up at 5am, and the girls were sweltering in the heat. Good old camping!

2021-01-05 Duke of Orleans Bay, Surfing at Wharton Beach

What a day! Our last day in Esperance, but it was the best day! We started off with the usual Turkish bread breakfast and ate out on our balcony with Callie running around, then we set off to Duke of Orleans Bay. We had no idea what to expect, but it ended up being an island called Table Island you could walk to from the mainland across a shallow sand spit - amazing!

We set up the drone, and got some amazing shots! Callie loved it, chasing the ball, swimming, and even did some rock climbing! We spent the whole morning there.

We grabbed some lunch on the go, and then headed to Wharton Beach where we finally found our surfing beach! It was the best beach with the kindest waves we've ever seen. It took a while to get used to them, but it was so much fun! We stayed out until we were almost the last surfers there, and we had our go-pro and video running - gonna be fun watching!

We headed home for our last night at dusk - Mummy drove very well but carefully so we didn't hit any animals.

2021-01-04 West Beach, Twilight Beach Rock Swim, Thistle Cove, Hellfire Cove, Lucky Bay

Loads of travelling today, but not until we have a lovely breakfast and coffee! This time with our own mugs. West Beach looked good for surfing, but we decided to move on to Twilight Beach and swim to the huge rick outcrop - it was pretty rough, but me and Roxy managed it, and climbed up to explore. We couldn’t get to the other rocks, but we tried and almost got stuck. Paish drove the drone over to us, and we finished off jumping in, which was fun! Callie loved the beach!

We then headed back home for some lunch, and leave Callie as she was not allowed to the national park to the east. We stopped off at 3 beaches - all with squeaky sand, and we walked over the rocks to get some great views - it was cool! We got some drone footage too! We also drove our Captiva onto a beach - scary stuff! We were then told to remove ourselves from the park by a ranger, who was none too pleased about the way we were behaving - Paish!

We were too tired after dinner to play cards, so only the photo comp - everyone won one! Yay!

2021-01-03 Twilight Beach, Ten Mile Beach, Observatory Point, Pink Lake

What a day! We saw the most amazing beaches today - Twilight Beach looked brilliant for beginner surfing, but the wind just picked up as we arrived, so we moved on to Ten Mile where we got some great drone footage that somehow got deleted, Callie dived into the lagoon twice, and loved running on the white sand and walking along the rock pools. Roxy snorkled even though it was freezing! We then moved into another amazing lagoon called Observatory Point, and we got more great drone footage on the rocks which did get saved!

We then drove to Pink Lake, which was a bit of a disappointment as it wasn’t pink - something about not enough it not being salty enough! Ah well. We started to head back, but stopped off at a lake where Mummy took a picture of a beautiful tree - photo comp winner!

Came back and decided to head out for a 3km run with sprint training - it was so windy, but it was fun. Came back for our own Spudilicious potatoes with chilli! Yummy! Daddy won the photo comp AND brag - Paish was none too happy about that at all throwing chips everywhere - salty!
