Packed up, and I went to write my TABS article until we left - just posted it as my battery ran out!
Free milkshakes from our lady Rahana, and had our photo taken with her - lovely lady!
Erik was our only traveller from Germany, and we headed for 2 hours to our river lodge. He came with us on our trips - he just qualified as a cardiologist in Germany, so this was his big trip to Asia - Borneo, Indonesia, the Morocco.
What a place! Hornbill Lodge on the River Kinabitangan - amazing setting, rooms are incredible overlooking the river. Breathtaking.
We headed out pretty much straight away - Rox spotted the first monkeys, little to know there were going to be hundreds! Makaks, Proboscis, HUGE monitor lizards attacking a group of monkeys, 2 crocs - one small, one around 3m big just as I negated my jinx, hornbills. It was like a crazy fairground ride - everywhere you looked you sw something!
We had a short break for dinner, then back out for a night time walk - owls, frogs, blue caterpillar which was so weird, and bats.
Erik won Pit! Could you believe it! Paish didn’t even win a game.
