2020-04-19 School Holidays, Dog Park, More Surfing, Breaking Bad Finale!

Clara: All this isolation has meant we have had a chance to go to loads of dog beaches and parks! During the holidays, we have gone to Joondalup dog park loads, Mummy also took Callie along Mullaloo while we went surfing, and we also went to Yanchep Beach for picnics which has been amazing! We also love Trigg Beach and Quinns Rocks, and we spent an some amazing evenings at both last week!

We have done so much surfing over the last couple of weeks - we even go down when it is really choppy and stormy just to get some practice!

We finally finished Breaking Bad - it was amazing! We also watched some of my states netball, and also Paish's rugby final as it was on TV! So funny!

Aiysha: I'm hard at work studying, but I do get a chance to go surfing and Dad, Junior and myself have gone for quite a few kicking sessions. It has felt just like the holidays with everyone being around.

S: Surfing has been so much fun! We're all getting there and improving!

C: Callie is so much fun, but is soooo cheeky! She loves balls of wool!

COVID is starting to ease off now - first day with no new cases! Wahoo, maybe we can get back to sports!

2020-03-25 COVID-19, Paish Stuck in Sydney, Remote Working, States Windup

Paish: We played our last Super-W game in Sydney - it was tough but really enjoyed it. We lost 44-0, but held them out for so long. The weather was awful - the worst I've played in, pouring with rain and the ball was so slippery. I wish I'd used Uncle Dave's trick of using soil to give me more grip! I thought I did well against my opposite scrum half, and I took her out a few times and didn't let her get through me.

Myself and Taj decided to stay on for an extra week to tour around and hit the beaches - how things can change in just a week! COVID-19 hit everywhere, and apparently someone at our rugby game who played after us had it! When we were due to fly back, we were almost stopped, and we had to frantically ring the Department of Health to see if we could get back, other wise we would have to stay in quarantine for 14 days in Sydney! Luckily, we were allowed.

I did go into my own quarantine when I got back though. Not that bad as I had a heap of study (and Tik Toks) to catch up on!

Rox: COVID-19 is crazy! We all cannot believe it, and we stopped going to school in the last two weeks of term just in case. Mummy still had to go, but we were at home with Daddy and Paish. Aaliyah is not allowed out at all, and has been off school for a few weeks now anyway.

All those trials, for maybe nothing...poor Roxy...

S: It is crazy times. Grandad Brian is in isolation in Lutterworth, Dave is in isolation in HK, Paish in isolation here. Moved out of our office, and good job we had the States windup when we did!

C: So relieved Paish got home! I was super stressed!

2020-03-08 I made top team! Super W WA Force vs Melbourne Rebels

Clara: I am so happy (and a bit nervous!)! I was selected for Team 1 U15 for Hammersley! I think I am the youngest in the team, so I'm going to have to work extra hard! Ellie who was my state coach is the coach, so I'm really happy!

Aiysha: We had our first home game against Melbourne Rebels. It was such an exciting game - we were 14 points up after 10 minutes, but then we let things slip by kicking the ball away. In the end we lost 26-31, but we played pretty well. I was pretty happy with my game, but disappointed we lost after having such a good start. I made a few good breaks which I was happy with - I just need to make sure I score next time!

We got some great stats below - I think I did pretty well.

We took Dad's old camera down to the beach, and we finally finished the film and developed it - the pictures look really cool!

C: So proud of you both! Amazing you got into the top team Clara, and what a great performance Paish!

S: Awesome game Paish! So proud of you, and amazing result Rox - so exciting!

2020-03-02 Movie Extravaganza, Long Weekend!

Clara: All this week the storms have been amazing! So much lightening and thunder it has been pretty scary all week! We had some flooding in our games room again.

Dad and I went for a 6km (the second in a week) hoping it would pour down on us, but in the end it was the only time it didn't rain! When we did our exercises, the lightening and thunder were so close we got scared and went in. It was a hard run, but we made it! We even picked up the pace at the end!

Mummy screamed in the middle of the night when the thunder was right outside our door! Funny!

We went to see an amazing film called 1917 on Friday! On Sunday we went to see Parasite!

Aiysha: Dad and I went for a special lunch on Friday to Burns Beach - it was meant to be the afternoon, but I was on school pickup!

I had a team bonding session at Carousel in Willeton - Mum, Dad and Rox picked me up after their film and we got a Maccas!

My tik-tok was on the view page - Roxy was so excited! Funny!

C: Amazing storms, amazing film too!

S: Brilliant films! Crazy week with the weather. Roxy got a great video of lightening!

2020-02-23 WA vs Reds, Nick, Logs, Mullaloo Surfing, Rooftop Movie

Aiysha: Wow, probably one of the toughest matches I have, and maybe will play. Straight up, we lost 80-5, and I was battered by the end of it. However, I thought I played pretty well, and luckily my stats back that up! I also did so much of what we planned - I made two clean breaks, my passing was so much better and with confidence, and I made some awesome tackles. I was mentioned a number of times by the commentators, which was really funny, and it wasn't about my head gear! I ever got a mention in the match article - https://www.rugby.com.au/news/2020/02/21/super-w-rugbywa-reds-match, which was nice to see.

Man I was aching after!

Clara: You are such a hero Paish! They were a tough team! You played amazing!

C: What a tough game Paish! You are so brave!

S: You played amazing Paish! The best you could possibly do against a very very stacked side! You breaks were amazing, and your passing and tackling was so brave. Kudos to you!

Went to see Jo Jo Rabbit at the Rooftop Cinemas in the city tonight with Andrea and Harry - it was so nice, and very funny. Dumpling first of course!

2020-02-16 My 13th Party Weekend, WA vs Brumbies, Perth Festival

Clara: I was so excited for my birthday! I was sad that Aiysha couldn't be here, but I was so excited to watch her play the Brunbies on International televsion! I had to go to school unfortunately, but I got picked up early to go to Ross's funeral. It was very sad, but Dad and I held hands the whole time and we remembered all the fun times we had with Ross! He will always be with us. Dad then surprised me with dumplings at Authentic Bites and they hit the spot!

Dad then gave me a letter saying that he is going to surprise me with something else for my birthday. I had no idea what it was! We drove for a while to City Beach where I found out  was going to be getting a spring suit! I was so excited and Dad helped me find the perfect one! I have already worn it, even though its the middle of summer!

After the surprise outing with Dad, we went to Quinns beach with Mum and Callie and had an amazing time! Callie was so well behaved and playful with all the dogs! We all had so much fun and it was a great end to my 13th birthday! I lay in the water while the sun set and it was lovely! We then went to get fish and chips by the sea and met a groodle like Winston! What an awesome day!

On Saturday, we watched Aiysha's game and she was amazing as scrum half! I'm such a proud sister! Aaliyah and Chloe came over for a sleepover and we had lots of fun with Callie, in the pool and of course making tik toks! We went down to emerald park to walk Callie and Winston and Buster where there and they had lots or races together. Callie is by far the fastest! They were all chasing Winston's ball when some birds flew past and Callie chased them all the way to the other side of the oval and I dived to stop her just before the road! I had such a scare and took a while to recover! Callie had lots of fun though! We had chicken nibbles for dinner and watched The Purge and there where lost of screams!

Aaliyah, Chloe and I woke up early on Sunday to get ready for the boat trip! We set of heading to Maylands where our boat was waiting for us. What a wonderful trip! It was dog friendly as well and Callie had a ball! Dad was the skipper and we stopped off at a jetty where we jumped off. I did a backsault, but the others were to scared! We got an ice-cream and Callie met some crazy dogs. We then ventured on to our next stop, during that time we got in trouble for getting to close to the shore! We next stopped at another jetty and we swam out to a buoy. We headed down the river and had a few more swims and then we had to head back. It was such an awesome way to celebrate my birthday, I loved it! We picked up Aiysha on the way home and dropped my friends back and had a relaxing evening with a lovely sweet sauce chicken to finish the day.

What a weekend! Had an awesome time!

Aiysha: I was so nervous and excited about playing scrum half at Super W. It was a very tough game because I don't think we were conditioned enough for game situations where the other teams have all had trial games. I had to make a lot of tackles on big people, which I suppose I'm going to have to get use to. It was a good confidence builder for the next game though. Me and Dad went through the game when I got back, and we made a list of things to aim for this week ready for a tough Reds game next week. I'm excited!

https://wa.rugby/videos?id={6EFC94DC-941D-4AB5-AB48-4F034A970189}

I got picked up from Claudia's house after they went on their boat ride - sounded like fun!

Sweet sauce chicken!

C: Amazing game Paish! So proud of you! Happy Birthday Rox! Thank you for such an awesome day, and a shame Paish couldn't join us!

S: You did so well for your first game at Scrum Half, but you're going to smash it in your next games! I can't wait. You are so brave.

Went to see Paul Kelly and his bird poems turned to music - absolutely amazing!

2020-02-09 State Touch Champs, Divas Pre-Season Starts

S: It was so exciting going into State Champs this year. I worked hard to get here, through operations and injuries and fitness, and I finally made it! It was cool being part of the team and training with them.

Our first game was against ECU, and we played well, but they beat us convincingly. We then played Northern, and we managed to beat them. We then played Southern lost to them, but beat Ellenbrook. We finally played Goldfields on Sunday, and we beat them, so we ended up 3rd where we played ECU again, and once again we lost. Amazingly, Northern won the whole tournament - we beat them in the second game, and we were very surprised.

I pulled my hamstring on the second game, but managed to play 3 full games in total and appear in the others, which was such an achievement considering the journey. It was great fun, and looking to do it next year for sure!

C: Callie is growing soooooo much! We can't believe it, and the training is going well.

Aiysha: It was great to see Dad out playing and he was looking pretty sharp. I wish I caught his Goldfields game on video though, but I stayed out all night and didn't get up! Doh!

Clara: I was so sad for Daddy when he pulled his hamstring, especially in the semi, but so happy that he played so many games! Well done Dad!
