2022-07-28 Week Off, U15 State Netball Tour to Canberra!

What a tour! It was the most amazing tour ever! Me and Mummy went first as Daddy wanted to stay for Paishies game which in the end was not played. He had a nice time in DFO before he came and bought some clothes!

Off the court, we had so much fun. Daddy took a scooter most days so us girls could go together. Teagan, Emily and Hallie mostly came with us, and we chatted all about the games. Them and Kate came to our room most nights to re-watch the videos of the games, and then we were joined by the rest of the team on some nights - so much fun!

We went for our swimming warm downs, watched the other states when we were resting, did cook-offs, went out to dinner, raided other people's rooms, and so much more. It was brilliant! The girls were amazing and so much fun, and when we needed to do the job on court, they all played amazing!

All the games are on Daddy's YouTube Channel:

https://www.youtube.com/c/StephenWigleyPerth/videos

So glad we video all the games!

  • Day 1- VIC, Bye
  • Day 2 - QLD, TAS
  • Day 3 - SA, ACT
  • Day 4 - NSW, NSW (Semi-Final)
  • Day 5 - QLD (Grand Final)
C: Daddy and I went for a tour - I was his tour guide. We also got lost on a walk around a lake, but we managed to find our way back.

It was the best tour ever!

S: I loved scootering in the mornings! I even managed to go to the gym a couple of times!

The tour was amazing!

2022-06-30 Paish is 20! What an oldie! MDC House Carnival!

Paish: Yay! Happy Birthday to me! I am now 20, same age as my other oldie friends! It was a fairly quiet one, and we decided to go to our Mings BBQ House for a special dinner of my choice, and Jenna came with us! Mummy made her raspberry and chocolate waffle cake - yummy!

Don't worry, I have my party bus in a couple of weeks and it is going to be wild! I also just cam back from Bali, so this year has been an amazing celebration!

Rox: We had our MDC House Carnival, and it was bright sunshine! Dad missed my first race and I came 2nd. In my 200m I came 2nd just, and also in my 400m! I also ran pretty well in the relay. I was pretty pleased with all my races this year, and I ended up getting runner up girl, which was pretty nice.

The Tug-of-War was the funniest though - really enjoyed that and we won it!

C: Happy Birthday Paish! Great running Rox!

S: Tug-of-War - so funny! Awesome performance Rox, and Happy Birthday Paish!

2022-06-20 Paish in Bali! Gifts Training Session, More Training Games

Paish: Wow, what a trip to Bali! The surf was amazing, and boy do I have some stories to tell! I had such a ball with Maddie and Rachael and we went to some amazing places. I can't wait to tale the fam there!

Rox: More training games on the Sunday - we are managing to beat these teams comfortably though - we even played last year's team, but not many showed which was a shame. We are really looking forward to playing a 20s team to really let us know where we are at.

We had a Warm and Fuzzy session where we bought a gift for each player - that was nice, and some funny presents were given. I have socks!

S: Really interesting build up - not many teams are testing our states team, which is a good sign!

I like my Sunday morning brekkie though!

C: We miss you Paish! Looks fun!

The Bau: Ah man, haircut! Finally! Get a grip guys!

2022-07-17 Double Header - Wanneroo & Cott, We Beat Southside Demon's 20s! School Holidays!

Paish: We played our two best games of the season against Wanneroo and Cottesloe - Wanneroo was on Tuesday night which was cool. I was playing 9, and we had some real chances - one of the best games I've played this year! Our forwards played so well and gave our backs some great ball. We just made some small errors that gave them some soft tries. We did the same against Cottesloe, a but we managed to score 4 tries which was great! We were buzzing at the end. We are really starting to come together as a team now, which is so exciting. It has taken some time, but now we seem to becoming confident and strong.

I played a fun game of 10s against Paly too - good to mix with the other girls and Bailey scored a hat trick!

Rox: We had our final game this week against Southside Demons 20s. We already beat last years State team - only 5 turned up so we had to lend them some players, and Rangers. We put a lot of points on both which was surprising. Demon's was by far our toughest game so far - we managed to get 10 points ahead, but in the end we won by 2 - they came back in the last 2 quarters. We think they thought they were going to beat us easily as they didn't bother to warm up - that will show them!

Me and Paish made a yummy cereal bowl breakfast!

C: I'm so happy to be on School Holidays, and then going to Canberra! It's going to be so much fun!

What a game against Demons!

S: You showed them Demon's eh?! Canberra not far away now! Just a week off. Me and Rox even had time to take The Bau to Quinns!

The Bau: I love the beach! Give me more!

2022-07-03 State Captain, Fever Final, Aus vs Eng Rugby with Jenna

Rox: I got elected to be the State 15s Captain! I was so pleased and Teagan and Kristy-Lee are my vice captains, which is very cool. It is such a fun team too, so I am super excited! We played Comets TDP and Southwest TDP this week, and unfortunately we beat them easily.

We watched the Fever final on TV as we could not get tickets. Linny offered to get us tickets which was so nice, but we turned them down as I was working. It was an amazing final but in the end it was pretty convincing! It is amazing that the Fever is the best side in Australia - I hope we can do the same at States!

Paish: Our game against Kala got postponed, so we decided to go to the England vs Australia game, and invited Jenna. We were a little late for dumplings before the game, so we went after and met the Wanneroo coaches there...awkward! It was not great meeting them, and they had a few words to say between them and Dad. It was a bit strange.

2022-06-06 TACT Weekend, 23rd in X-Country, Tennis!

Paish: Dad and I played tennis again - I need to do a lot more practice, but I really enjoyed it!

I am so looking forward to my holiday in Bali! It's going to be awesome!

Rox: What a weekend! It was such a fun weekend and lived up to all the excitement - I was looking forward to this weekend for so long.

We played 3 games each day, and we were unbeaten going into the final day. We qualified for the final where we played Perth (Emily). We beat them by 1 in the round games, so we knew it was going to be close. We managed to get up by a few points, towards the end, but they came back and we only won by 1 in the end - it was a crazy end! The results are here:

That's 3 wins in 3 - so happy!

I managed to come 23rd in the cross-country too which was not bad at all. I managed to be the top out of the MDC in our year, which was cool.

2022-05-29 Round 2 vs Wanneroo, Hammers 4 vs Top, Force beat Hurricanes / Fever Lost to Firebirds, Jenna's Broken Ankle

Paish: It was a very sad week as on Tuesday during a drill Jenna got hit in the leg by Chelsea and it broke her ankle. She was so upset and we were playing so well together! I am absolutely gutted, and so is Dad. I really hope she recovers quickly! I will miss playing with her!

It was a very frustrating game against Wanneroo, as I really wanted to win it. They did play well and we put up a great fight. But we didn't get enough ball in the backs, and we knew we could win it. I did score a 60m try though which was one of my best tries ever! I was very proud.

Dad, Jenna and I went out to watch the Force - we couldn't get into dumplings, so we went to Mings BBQ and had duck, pork, fried rice, noodles and dumplings - yummy! It was freezing watching the Force against the Hurricanes, and they had to win in order to still be in the hunt for finals. I predicted we would lose by 15, Jenna by 1, and Dad said win by 5. We were 2 down with 5 minutes to go, and we managed to score an amazing try and convert! Dad won the bet!

Rox: We played the top side this week (Whitfords Warriors), and I played 3 quarters in C. We were 4 down going into the final quarter, and we won it by 2! It was a really exciting game, and a shame Paish and Dad could not watch it.

We had States training with Kate's Mum today - it was really fun! Then we had the TACT picnic - we had some amazing sausage rolls!

On Friday after training we stayed and watched all the netball at Gold Netball Centre - it was fun, and Dad stayed with us and so did Emily! We got Boulevard pizzas mid-way through and they were yum!

S: I was so sad about Jenna's ankle, and she almost made me cry at the game talking about her plans with her and Paish this season. She will be sorely missed by everyone, and we are so gutted.

Our 10s played Bayswater and put up a really good fight against some experienced players, and our 15s did some great play, but in the end we didn't win either. What a try by Paish though!

We watched Don't Look Up, and saw Hutchie's name in the credits! Cool!

2022-05-21 Round 1 vs Cottesloe, Dim Sum with Lionel! World Cup Pictures

Paish: We had our first game against Cottesloe, and we should have won it. We just got penalised by the referee so much that he practically handed them the game. It was vey frustrating. I did score a good try though!

Australia won the bid to host the RWC in 2027 and 2029, and I got in the promo shots - yay!

Rox: At the end of my week of illness, Dad and I took the train into town to meet Lionel for Dim Sum. It was so weird meeting someone Dad use to teach, but it was so much fun, and we even ate chickens feet!

S: It was great seeing Lionel! Not so much the chickens fee though! :-)

2022-05-15 Comets Curtain Raiser

Rox: We played the Comets curtain raiser against Aaliyah's team Warriors. It was a really fun game, and we managed to win by about 15-20, which was fun for us, but not so much for Warriors.

We stayed and watched the 20s and they won their game too.

2022-05-01 Uncle Dave! Mummy's Birthday!

What a crazy trip! We did so much! The pictures say it all - what an exhausting week it was, but soooooo much fun! Can't wait to see you again Dave!
