2024-12-27 - Day 3 - Russian Market, Silkworm Island, Private Driver

Ang was our tuk tuk driver for the whole day - so funny! He loved it, and we just went with the flow!

Paish, Rox and I started off going to Elite Gym in the morning for a workout - really enjoyed it although Rox did have a sore knee. Jumped in the pool when we came back for more races - so funny! Rox won this round. Sat out watching the streets again - so cool. We had cereal

Ang then took us on a day tour - we started off in the Russian market which was stacked with food stalls, raw meat and vegetables stalls and loads of clothes. We bought a couple of things, and left the girls which we went for a lovely coffee at a Turkish cafe that donated to starving families in Cambodia. So cool.

Ang then drove us to the ferry to cross the river to the silk island, and came with us! The tour was incredible and even though it took a couple of hours, it was so cool - we saw the silk worms,  the spinning of the silk and then the making of the scarfs - 4 days to make 1 metre! The girls brought a couple of souvenirs, and then we headed off

Ang didn’t understand us about the stilt houses, so he took us to the palace, which was also cool. Then we asked him to take us to lunch, and he took us to the exact restaurant that we picked out last night to go to! Crazy! When we arrived, there just happened to be a rehearsal for the New Year celebrations - loads of oversized wearable sculptures, and factions of people doing their own thing. It was pretty exciting until we realised they weren’t starting for a while. We had our lunch - curry and fried fish which was so nice, then we hung around for this thing to start - it never did, and we wasted so much time just waiting and listening to the same music over and over again. We finally gave top and headed home.

We chilled out, then went back out to grab bite to eat - came across this Japanese self serve place which was so nice!

What a crazy day! Loved it!
