2015-09-06 Champion Girl, Fathers Day at the Zoo!

Clara: I have had such a fun year, and perhaps the best year so far! I not only did well at Naplan, I trained really hard to try and win my events all year - and I managed to do it - I managed to win cross country, long throw, and long jump. On the Faction Carnival day, I also managed to win my race, the year relay and the grand relay! It was such a fun day!

Batavia managed to win the carnival, and I was Champion Girl, with Aiva Croot as runner up, which was really cool!

On Father's Day, we started off feeding Smokey with strawberries. Then we had pancakes, and then went to Perth Zoo! It was such a fun day, and we saw so many animals! Some strange things happened too, like we watched one tortoise push another one round and around, mice running on a spinning wheel and getting thrown off, water rats and finding out about all the endangered species. It's pretty scary how much we are blamed for extinction!

It was a really fun day!

Aiysha: The zoo was cool! We also had time to do some gymnastics! We gave Dad a few Dime bars too, which I hope to steal.

I spent all day trying to trip and push Dad into puddles, but in the end, Dad made me step into the deepest puddle, which I was not happy with. It was funny though.

At the Faction Carnival, I volunteered to help out, and I watched all of Clara's events - she was great! I loved helping all the little kids too!

C: What a fun day at the Zoo, and well done Roxy Roo at the Faction Carnival! It was great to see!

S: The meerkats were cool! The tortoises going round and round were the best though! Great running Clogger Rocker!

2015-09-01 Judges Invitational, Naplan The New Office!

Aiysha: I was so happy with how my first comp since my back injury went! All I was hoping was to get through the competition without getting injured. I opted not to do my bars, and only concentrate on vault, beam and floor.

My vault went okay I thought, but when it came to beam I fell off on my spin, which was really disappointing as I nailed that in training. I was really proud of my floor routine though, even though I had hardly any practice compared to the other girls. I didn't expect to place at all, but when they announced the results, I got 6th on vault and 5th on floor! I couldn't believe it! If I had not fallen off beam, I would have placed too! I was so happy, and I was beaming all night!

I had my final game of netball on Saturday, and we'd only really had 10 minutes training in the last 4 weeks - for one reason after another, training kept on getting cancelled. I was really disappointed in the game, and our coach didn't even turn up to watch the game, which was worse than losing the game, as it made me very angry after all the training we'd done all year.

I ALMOST let it overshadow my gymnastics, but didn't as it wasn't my fault. Next year will be better, and I can concentrate on my gymnastics now. I can't wait, as I am on a mission!

Clara: My final netball game went well - I shot 4 goals, and ran like anything! I got player of the game too! I really enjoyed this season with Rebels, and hope there is a Spring netball team.

My Naplan results came through this week - wow! I could not believe it! I got top in every category - no one expected that, least of all me! I was pretty happy. Mummy and I tried to play a trick on Daddy showing him Aiysha's results, but he didn't fall for it. Mummy and Daddy was amazed!

C: Our pool is finally settled down now and we just have to get rid of the leeching! Other than that, we're ready for Summer!

Well done Roxy and Paish! We're so proud! If only you were as good at tidying your rooms, Aiysha!

S: Well, it took a 10 months, but we've finally moved into our own Burning Fruit office! We've been through so much to get this far, and feel this is going to be so exciting!

Awesome performances Roxy and Paish! If only you were as good at moving your plates to the dishwasher!

2015-08-29 Port Denison & Dance Mums!

Clara: Dad has taken Burning Fruit up to Port Denison! WAHOO!

I will miss him, but we will get to watch Dance Mums!

Aiysha: Dance Mums, and no one is telling me to do my exercises every day!

C: Even though I love Dance Mums, I do miss the Doodis...

S: Port Denison was awesome fun! We did a heap of work on our website, and we also did some fishing, kerbie, cricket, running, walking and had a real laugh in the evening watching TV, games and some pretty decent food!

When we get back, we'll be in our office! Wowzer...

2015-08-02 Winners, Losers and Pool!

Aiysha: At the start of the weekend we said we would try and make it 3 wins out of 3 for our netball and basketball games. Unfortunately, I lost my netball game by 3 points - BUT, I did an amazing shot leaning to get a rebound out of court and I shot it straight in! I really enjoyed the game, but was very disappointed that we lost.

I am back at full training at gym now, and things are coming back to me pretty quickly now.

Clara: I did some great shooting at netball, and we beat a team that smashed us early in the season - we beat them 13-5! We were really excited about the win!

C: We are finally re-surfacing our pool! We drained the water out today. We also did some renovations to the pool house - Arthur would be proud!

S: Won our second game of the season by 1 point again! It was hard work, but a really satisfying result. My shooting was not great...oh dear...

Dad is now out of hospital - great! Mum is settling into her new home - cool!

2015-07-19 Great Netball Win, Kings Park!

Clara: We won our 3rd game of the season against a team who has not lost all season! It was 16-6, so we smashed them! I didn't get a chance to play attack, but everyone else shot really well. We were very happy!

When we dropped Aiysha to watch a gym comp with her friends, Daddy and I went to Kings Park just for fun. We played tree golf, hide and seek, guess the occupation and some gym work! It was fun!

Aiysha: Went to watch the girls gym comp, then an international gym comp in the evening. It was fun!

C: Great game Roxy! Well done! End of school holidays now...booo!

S: Lost at Connect 4 badly to Aiysha. Not happy.

2015-07-17 Tilly M'Tilly, Ferguson Valley, School Holidays

Clara: Matilda came over to visit us from Adelaide, and it was great! She even had a sleep over! We played a bit of netball to start with, then Mummy took us rollerblading. After rollerblading, we went to my Rebels netball training and Matilda joined in. A Dad from the other team marked Matilda, and promised he would not intercept the ball - he didn't keep his promise!

We came back and made pizza's for dinner which were lovely! At bedtime we kept on running around, and we had a big pileup on the couch on top of Daddy! It was funny! We fell asleep around 10.30pm.

We woke up and watched a bit of TV, then did a dance routine with acro. We showed the Mums, then Matilda had to go. I was a bit sad, but it was great to see her!

We then had to go for our injections for Vietnam, which made all our arms ache! Daddy managed to miss it - he was scared! After that we went to Storm to get Aiysha's gym outfit - she got 3 leotards! Wowzer!

Aiysha: I got 3 amazing leotards at Storm - thanks guys for my birthday present!

We went for 2 nights to Ferguson Valley - it was a lot of fun! Our house was very basic and old, but it had a fire. It even had a toilet outside! Brrrrrrrr! The first night we didn't realise all the windows were open, and it was soooooo cold!

Daddy went for a run the first morning, and Clara and I went for a run in the evening Daddy saw some kangaroos, and we saw a wild echidna! It was awesome! We even took a picture!

We played two board games while we were away - Family Feud, and we learned how to play Risk on the original board. It was really funny, and Clara ended up killing everyone!

Daddy almost fell in a waterfall - was funny and scary at the same time! He had trouble getting back over to us too, and had to climb a lot of rocks to get back.

We went for lunch at a winery one day, and they had a super cool dog who joined in with all out piggy in the middle games! He even rescued the ball once when it went down towards the river!

C: Had a lovely evening out at Linda's - Caroline, the boys, and the Shepherds were there and it was great to see them.

S: I cannot believe I found the original Risk board! I can't believe that Clara won the very first game too! Very disappointed.

2015-07-09 Reports! End of Term!

Clara: I think I got a pretty good report this term! I was really pleased with the comments.

Daddy took Aiysha and I climbing this week - Aiysha was not bad considering she hadn't done it for a while, and got to level 18. I got to level 16, one level above the last time I climbed - I was so pleased! We also climbed on the new wall where we didn't need ropes - I got to my targets, but Aiysha did not :-)

Aiysha: We won first netball game this week! We celebrated like we had won the league - it was such a relief, and we were sooo happy!

I don't like tidying....anything!

C: It got down to 1 degree today! Brrrrrrr! Get the fire going! We tidied rooms and the games room, much to the disgust of Aiysha!

Went for a little walk along the river in the Swan Valley

S: Had a dreadful game this week at basketball - lost by 40 points. The were just too good!

Dad ended up in hospital this week with a heart attack - will see how it goes.

2015-06-27 We made history! I am a teenager!

Clara: Amazing - we made history by winning the Interschool cross country! It was such an amazing feeling, and when we realised, the whole school went crazy! When we arrived back, the whole school was out of class celebrating on the lawn with musical instruments and everything! Mr Gray rang Daddy especially to tell him - Daddy could not believe it!

It was a good day for everyone at Edgewater.

In other news, I ran a really good race and came second to someone who does little athletics, and our year came first! We got a trophy, and our picture got put in the school newsletter.

We tried a new fish an chips place along the coast - apparently one of the best in WA! It was nice though :-)

Aiysha: I had my party at bounce - I invited Casey, Clara, Aaliyah, Violana and Sophie (who came later). Bounce was great fun, although we didn't do too well on the dodge ball. Us big girls then went to Hillary's for dinner where we tried to chat to a good looking guy at Boost! Rejected!

We came back for a sleepover in the games room, and finally got to sleep at around 12am. Not bad, but it was great fun!

A couple of weeks ago, we went to watch Casey at her Karate grading - she was doing it with a dislocated elbow, but she was so brave she got through it all, and managed it! Well done Casey! Don't think I would like to do it though...scary stuff!

C: Great party, great bunch of girls!

S: I'm not great at dodge ball :-(
