2018-07-09 - Bali: Day 1 - Arrival

We travelled on Jetstar and it went pretty quick  - on arrival a man hogged the window so we couldn't see much - seriously dude!

So nice to be warm and to smell the smells. Maddie our driver took 90 minutes to get to DD Ubud Villa. He was such a nice driver!

Perhaps the most spectacular jungle hut we have ever stayed in! It also had an amazing infinity pool.
Both huts were set in the jungle with wonderful views, and it was so steep that they had some great steps ready to be stepped along in the morning! The girls will love it!

Spent a while by the pool, then Madi drove us to Ubud. Everyone was trying to sell us rafting tickets-Some cheaper than others. Went around some temples first and then the markets-lots of people were not successful getting us to buy-think we were just too tired!

Started to rain heavily, so we popped into a Warung for curry, fish and noodles.

Observations:
- there were so many kites flying in the sky
- Night sounds were amazing
- A lot of Europeans, and a lot of smokers!
- crazy roads once again
- wonderful rain forest with really thick trees
- sculptures everywhere-wooden and stone

2018-07-05 My Birthday! Western Force, Inter Faction Cross Country, Ready For Bali! Born To Perform!

Clara: We had the Inter-house cross country race, and I was so nervous for it. The race was 4 laps around the oval, and I hit the front pretty soon, and managed to hold the lead. Erin was pretty close behind me - she ran an amazing race! I was so relieved though.

We had the best dance comps ever! I came third in my lyrical solo which means I move up to Intermediate, and we did so well in our troupes winning our tap, hip hop and acro!

We are sooo excited about going on holiday! We have waited so long, and it is so exciting!

Aiysha: Last week I went with the Western Force u18's team to Canberra to play in the national tournament. I went as flanker in the end, which was okay, but still not sure what to do. I played a couple of games, but didn't feel comfortable at all, and wanted to play in the backs. We actually got to the final and won the whole thing, which was amazing! It was such a great experience, and brilliant how we beat all the other state teams. Can't wait for the next one!

I love our holidays! We just seem to do such crazy and different things, I can't wait to see what we get up to!

C: You girls are doing so well at so much! We are so proud of you both! You deserve a break and an awesome holiday!

S: Well done on tour Paish! Amazing race Roxy Roo! 3 years in a row! What a record!

Matt invited me to go to the new Optus Stadium to watch the Dockers play Richmond - unfortunately, they lost badly. It was fun though!

Went to the Rising Stars awards, which was pretty cool and made some great contacts for Venue Maestro, including the venue the awards we were at.

So close now until our holiday!

2018-06-17 Trials, Trials and more Trials

Clara: Aiysha and I are trialing for loads of things - I got State Schools, Aiysha has Warriors and Western Force and Touch Rugby!

I played okay, and Namahe happened to be marking me. We both got through to the next trial that is tomorrow!

We lost to Hammersley, but we could have beaten them though. We just made too many mistakes!

Aiysha: I had my dinner dance at Aqua on Friday - it was amazing, and I had a makeup lady come round and do my make up - it looked amazing! It was a fun night though!

The trials went okay in the first round of Warriors, so onto the next round!

We beat Rebels which was great, and they have beaten all but two teams this season - there is hope for us yet!

C: Roxy you did an amazing job to get to the next round of State Schools!

S: Took Burning Fruit team to Time's Up Escape Rooms - Wanted - it was so much fun, and we got out, a little after time though!

My Under-11s played the best game ever, and beat a team we got smashed by at the beginning of the season. My Opens team lost by one point again this week! Not as painful as the collapse from last week, but disappointing all the same.

I sneaked in to Kmart to take a photo of Paish! Tee hee...

2018-06-12 Rain, Exams and Recovery

Aiysha: I managed to so far pass 3 of my most difficult subjects in my exams - Maths, Physics and Chemistry! I am so happy, and all that hard work paid off!

I injured my ankle at rugby last week, but still managed to score two tries, play netball which we lost in the last minute by one goal against Hammersley, and I had Warriors trials on Sunday. The weather was crazy all week with howling winds, thunder and a bucket full of rain.

On Saturday night Dad and I had to leave the Australia vs Ireland game on TV to watch Western Force vs Rebels. It poured down with rain there, but luckily we were under cover. The Force lost, but it was a good game and very funny, especially the guy who was kicking to the posts for $20,000! He was awful! There were some guys trying to start a Mexican wave - fail!

Clara: I did the best two runs ever this week! For some reason, I got around 30 minutes for my 6km, knocking 5 minutes off my time! I can't believe it! Daddy and Aiysha were not happy, tee hee. I also did a full 10 laps for my interval run - the last lap I had to do super quick! I felt great!

I went to Latitude with Jasmin this week, and we also went to watch West Coast Fever win their game last week at Perth Arena. Aaliyah was there, and it was fun watching her dancing. I always tried to go down to meet her. We also went to dinner at the tea house, but it was rushed because a big group arrived and made our dinner really late - what a shame.

C: Watching the Fever was so much fun! Shame about our dinner. The girls are playing so well at their netball too it is amazing to watch! Well done girls! Weather is awful though! Where has summer gone?

Well done Paish on your exams! Amazing!

S: Still recovering from my operation, but going well! Gradually doing more and more, and my follow up is this Friday - 2 weeks! Hopefully, he may give me the go-ahead to run! Crossed fingers!

Awesome exam results - just like your Dad!

Also took my team out for a Japanese lunch - the owners turned out to be Korean! Doh!

2018-06-01 Operation and Recovery

S: I went in for my knee operation today. I came about very suddenly as I only went for my diagnosis on Tuesday! It was a horrible day, and I checked myself in at around 11.45. I was looked after very well, and was finally in the theatre by 3.30. I went under very quickly, and came about around 5.30ish. The hospital called Mummy and Paish to pick me up, and I was home for dinner! Phew!

My knee already felt great - no pain for the first time in 14 months! Looking hopeful!

The next day Clara was off school for PD, and Aiysha had a free day after her exams, so I took them both to lunch after I saw Matt my physio who paid me a visit, and I get a deliver of Oska from Darren. We went up to Burns Beach, and it was a beautiful day. We had squid and pulled pork buns, then went for a little sit by pier and then down by the sea - it was lovely!

Aiysha: The sea was amazing! Dad was walking so well, even though he'd just had the operation!

In other news, my exams I think went okay, but not sure at all.

Clara: We had the Talent Quest just before Daddy's operation, and he was able to watch it. I was hosting it with Aiva. It was fun to host, and the acts were an interesting mix. It was such a fun process of auditions to the actual day though.

Finally! Pulled Pork Buns! They were yummy, but I still had to remove the salad!

Well done Daddy on your operation, I'm sure you will be running in no time! Can't wait to play tennis properly!

C: Poor Doody! Hope you recover soon!

2018-05-25 We Beat Swans!

Aiysha: Wow, we had a Friday night game against Swans and Arks, and we beat both! It was such a good game against Swans, and I loved tackling in the rain! It was the first time we have beaten them, and we were so happy! It proves that we are in contention to beat the best teams, and now just Neddies to take down. Exciting times!

Clara: I keep getting put into GS! It is not that fun, and I would much prefer playing in mid-court. We lost to Everlast Flames who were top of the table, but I feel we could have done better against them.

S: I took my team bowling and we had a bring your own food into the office day - it was a fun day, and Henry was very competitive at bowling, but didn't manage to repeat his performance the last time. It was a fun day though!

Our netball teams are starting to come good. Our Under 11s are starting to play well, and our Opens are learning the lessons of patience.

C: Well done Aiysha winning such a tough game of rugby! Rain - Winter is finally here :-(

2018-05-13 Mothers Day and Western Force!

Clara: We took Mummy out to a lovely Mothers Day! We drove to Swan Valley and went on the Winery Wagon Tour which was really funny! We didn't go vast distances, but it was so nice sitting in the front and experiencing the whole 3 hours of the tour. We went into the chocolate factory as well as quite a few other wineries, coffee places and a cheese tasting! After that we came back and had lunch at home. Daddy and Paish went to Western Force with Vio and Jenna, and I stayed home with Moomy! It was a lovely day!

Aiysha: The wagon trail was cool! Western Force was cool! I did miss the face plant by the parachute guy though. Luckily, Dad caught it on his camera!

C: Thanks guys! It was a lovely Mothers Day! Thank you for your presents!

S: What a relaxing day!
