2024-06-22 WANL Semi Finals, CAS Final vs St Stephen's, I work at Bounce! I can Drive again! ANC vs Swifts
Rox: Wow, what a crazy couple of weeks! just 2 weeks ago, we played against Roar and I was so unsure as to what I was meant to do in defence, and I didn't get much game time. Last week we had our first semi-final and I played WD again, but felt I did much better. We lost, but it was such a close game and we had our chances to win.
We had one more chance to get to the final but we had to play a stacked team against Sharks - they had Ruth Aryang, Jess Repacholi, Georgie Cleaver, the Eastough sisters, Harrison the shooter, Penny, and we had to play our best game of the season to win. I had no idea where I was going to play, but Mish ended starting me in Centre! Wow, that was cool. We started off really well, and for the first time in a lot of games, we won the first quarter. From then on, we kept our noses in front, and we played solid netball - no mistakes, safe short passes, and a lot of movement! I was so tired in the 3rd quarter after all the defending and attacking we did, but as a midcourt we played so well. Everyone played awesome, and put so much effort in! We drew the 3rd quarter, and going into the 4th we were up by 4. We finally managed to win the 4th quarter by 5! We're in the final! What a game! With the odds stacked against us, we pulled it off! I was so proud!
We played our CAS final earlier in the week, and Mater Dei had never ever won a senior championship. We played at home, and loads of people came to watch. The first quarter we were even and made a lot of mistakes, but from the 2nd quarter, we stopped making mistakes, and we started to pull away. In the end, we won by 20 points which was cool!
Oh, and I finally got my dream job at Bounce! I've always wanted to work there. I went for an interview with another 60 girls, and thought I would never get in, but I got it!
I was also on the bench against the Swifts at home. I didn't expect to get on, and the Swifts expected to win. The Cransberg twins played, and in the end we outplayed them quite easily after a weak start by us.
Crazy times!
Paish: I am finally able to weight bear on my leg! That is such a relief to be able to walk again, and after a couple of weeks, I was allowed to drive! Yay! These 2 months have gone pretty quick - only 10 more months before I can think about playing again!
Last nights game was crazy good! I was so proud of my sissy after the last couple of weeks.
C: What an amazing game Rox! I'm so proud of you. This time last year you hadn't even played Opens, and you just played a full game at C. So great to watch!
S: Amazing Rox! Such a good game! Everyone played incredible
2024-05-29 WANL vs Sharks, Faction Cross Country, CAS - I played Shooter, Yanchep!

Rox: We played Sharks last week and we got smashed by them. We just seemed one step behind them the whole game, and we could not keep up. Ruth played, and that made a big difference to how we played. We did beat Rangers pretty well though at their home ground, which was nice.
We had our Inter-faction cross-country, and Daddy was spying on me - luckily I got the win!
Paish: We went to Yanchep for a nice picnic and give Paishy some nice presents for her injury. It was very nice.
S: You passed your driving! Everyone is so happy! We don't have to drive you anymore, well, most of the time anyway! Well done. Awesome race too Rox! Well done!
C: Amazing Rox! You did so well on your driving! I am so happy for you! Great to see you shooting too!
2024-05-13 I passed my driving test! Wahoo! I'm free! Mummy's Birthday / Mothers Day, Comets beat Lightening and Jets, Cross Country
Rox: I passed my driving test today! I am so happy! I had a really nice Indian man who took me to some nice spots, and I actually got a perfect score! Wow! For my first solo trip, I'm taking Paish to touch.
We travelled down on Thursday to play Lightening in Round 9, and I only got 12 minutes as it ended up being quite an easy game. We won 58-37. We beat Jets the week before 70-47.
At CAS I ended up being a shooter! That was interesting!
I also won our Inter-house cross country where we ran from Picnic Cove to Neil Hawkins and back. It was on concrete which really made my muscles hurt after!
Paish: We took Mummy out a week after her birthday as I could not go out because of my leg! We went to Duckstein which was amazing! Lucky we booked a table, and we had sausages and pork belly for starters and mains and fish and chips, and it was soooo yummy! There were some loud party busses there too.
On Mothers Day we just chilled, and went up to Yanchep in the afternoon to do our present giving and play a game of Rummikub which I won on my first meld, to everyone's disgust! It was great!

2024-04-26 My Knee Operation. Pinneroo Visits. Dim Sum in new restaurant! We lost to Roar, but beat Rangers

Paish: Dad and I went to Pinneroo a few times to catch the last of the summer before I finally checked in for my knee operation which I was pretty nervous about, but Dr Ross Radich was so nice and has a lot of experience in ACLs. Dad dropped me off, and Mummy, Rox and Dad came to see me after my operation. I was pretty out of it for a while, and Dad came to pick me up the next day to take me home.
Now for the road to recovery! I can do this Paish!
Rox: It was good to see Paish finally have her operation so she can start her rehab. I can't wait to see her play again. I miss watching her tear up the field!
We lost to Roar this week, but we were even right up until the last quarter, and we just made a couple of silly mistakes, and that cost us. We'll get them next time! Rangers was a much easier game.
Dad and I tried to go to Dim Sum on Wednesday, but our usual place was shut! We had to walk around to find another place, which was actually pretty good. I don't think it will replace Canton Roe though.
S: Well done Paish on being so brave about everything! It is amazing how you can be so positive all the time, and this help your recovery so much! Keep it up!
C: We love you so much Paish, and will do all we can to make this recovery the best ever!
