Well, the wind put an end to a lot of our surfing, but on the last day we tried one last time. We went to Dunes, and at first Paish said it wasn't worth going out. Daddy decided he would go anyway as there was nothing to lose, and then the girls followed, and it turned out to be really good. Daddy still didn't catch a wave, but Paish did really well and we were all glad we gave it a go! On the way out we caught an ice cream, and in the bushes was an emu! You can see it if you look closely!
We grabbed some coffees before we set off to Quobba Station. Only a 4 hour drive, and was pretty remote. We arrived there in the evening quite late, set up our tent, and went to make our dinner in the shared BBQ area. Wasn't the most comfortable atmosphere with the other guests, which was a bit strange, but we soon had the BBQ to ourselves. It was a lovely dinner, and we went back to get ready for a pretty windy night. Our tent set up was okay, but Daddy had to secure it again in the night time. It was a pretty uncomfortable sleep for everyone, and it was decided that camping was definitely over-rated, so we will be getting swags when we get back home for our next trip!
Paish said the blowholes were awesome, especially when we could buy the nicest hot donuts there. It wasn't to be, and there were no donuts. The blowholes were pretty cool though!
In the morning Paish, Callie and Daddy walked to the coast - it wasn't easy, as everything seemed to be fenced off, but they managed to get there. They sat there for a bit watching the huge swell, then headed back to pack up the tent. Everyone was pretty tired!
