2018-07-16 - Bali: Day 8 - Journey Home

Sad moment...

We woke at 6.45 to pack and have breakfast. We had croissants and scrambled egg and rushed to pack and drive to the pier. Daddy said to us at the pier "I haven't seen my wallet for a while? Have any of you?" We had a mad frantic search, then Paish suggested that we phone Coco as it may be near the safe, and sure enough, doufus Daddy left it there! They rushed a bike down to give it to us - amazing service! I phoned Rani to say thank you so much - she was amazing for our whole trip! So lucky!

Paish did some backsaults on the pier.

We had a much more relaxing boat ride on the way back to Denpasar, and we got a taxi down to Jimbaran pretty quickly. We stopped off at Krishna - a shop we are pretty familiar with, and bought loads of stuff!

Jimbaran - we went crazy with seafood! Cost loads, but heck, it was amazing! Crab and fish! Roxy did not feel well all day, and had to sleep in the restaurant. Paish did some saults as usual. Some musicians tried to seranade us, but we used Roxy to stop them! Ha ha!

Got to the plane on time, and flew back home to Perth. Fairly uneventful flight, but when we got to the airport, Jetstar decided not to fly our luggage back with us - and our car keys were in there! What the! We had to get a taxi home and leave our car in the end - ridiculous! We were pretty tired when we got back.

What a holiday! Amazing!

2018-07-15 - Bali: Day 7 - Manta Rays / Tamelin Forest / Bikes!

What a jump!

Woke early for breakfast and we managed to catch an early boat to go snorkling to see manta rays. Man, the waves were HUGE! The biggest we've ever been in, and it did seem very strange (it turns out an earthquake hit soon after we left the island, and boat trips were stopped). It was pretty scary stuff, and Mummy was not happy at all!

The first drop off point was crazy - we thought we were going to get smashed up against the cliffs. Our driver just turned to us and say "Okay!". Er, we don't think so matey...We moved onto the second drop off point which was slightly better, and we all went in - it was better when we got in, and Paish and Rox immediately saw a manta ray and Paish got some amazing footage! Out snorkel didn't last long, and Paish and Dad started to feel very ill. We went to a third drop off point, and then to calmer waters around the other side of Crystal Bay. Amazing fish and coral, but still pretty rough.

We eventually went back to Crystal Bay and we dropped Roxy and Paish off to snorkel while we went in. It wasn't long until they got washed up by huge waves onto the beach, losing a fin! Roxy got wiped out, but we found her fin - crazy times!

We went home to recover, and Daddy slept, and we all had lunch - club sandwich - nice!

We left at 1pm to go to Temelin Forest. It was a nice 30 minute walk down and we saw some amazing forest, leaves, coastline, rock temples and canyons. We spent a while watching the coastline and waves, and eventually got to the pools. The womens pool was closed and we saw some boys jumping off the cliffs in the mens pool. After a while, Paish and I decided to do the same - it was so cool! Daddy went first in a sitting position, and survived, then they both did standing jumps twice - it was so much fun!

We granted Paish's wish, and we got scooters all the way up. There were some arguments between who was taking us. Daddy fell off his scooter with his ride - not great. Paish thought it was the best!

Daddy and Paish went for a walk to do backsaults on the road. Relaxing evening.

What a day!

2018-07-14 - Bali: Day 6 - Klinking Beach, Dinasaur Ridge, Angels Billabong

What an amazing day!

We left at around 9ish after swimming lengths of the pool - it was tough! Too much for Roxy as she wasn't well for the rest of the day.

The road to Angel's Billabong / Borken Beach was shocking. Our driver Comong was great though. Very funny and loved taking photos of us.

Angel's Billabong was crazy - it looked so dangerous, and the swell was big. Some tourists (carrying beer bottles!) almost got swept in! Crazy people. We walked around to the other side, and we saw the most amazing sight - Manta Rays just off the coast! It was phenomenal! Paish and Daddy carries on to the peninsula while Roxy rested with Mummy. We did our usual levitation and backsaults, very funny and Comong loved it!

Drove straight to he top of Dinasaur Ridge, no lunch. Roxy and Mummy decided not to go - smart move. It was mega crowded and congested on the way down. It took around 50 minutes to get down a knife edged vertical ridge (Paish goes rage over iPhone!), then we relaxed. Massive waves on the beach, and very scary. We decided to head out, and we chose our moment, only for Daddy to go out on my own as Paish was too scared! What the! Daddy had to swim fast to get beyond the break, and had no idea how to get back in as the waves were so big! He picked his moment, and managed to body surf back in - phew!

We were out for a few minutes, then suddenly a frantic woman was yelling at Daddy. Daddy wondered whether it was him she was shouting at, but said "Yes, you you you, my father is in trouble in the water!". Daddy dived straight in and found him with Darcy, an Australian paramedic. He was being held up by someone, and Daddy grabbed his hand and guided him to shore. As we touched sand, Daddy looked behind at him and saw an enormous wave only a second away. Daddy said to him "You're going to have to go under!". he was out of it and had no ideas. The force of the wave made Daddy let go of him, he just couldn't hold on. He went with the wave, and then went to find the man again. Another wave hit them, but this time Daddy brought him to shore and he was safe - crazy times! The family was from Brazil, and they were very thankful. Stayed and chatted to Darcy - "There can't be a nicer place to rescue someone!", then enjoyed the beach, then back up in 30 minutes - no crowds. Good fun, and adventurous times!

Early dinner, relaxed. What a day!

2018-07-13 - Bali: Day 5 - Nusa Penida

We left early with a new driver from Didi Ubud Villas. Sent Madi a picture with us - he was cool. This new driver played really back rock music on the way to the ferry, and I asked him to turn it down as it was so loud we could not talk - he said 'No!'. Turns out it was a misunderstanding, but it was funny. Hung around the port for a bit and had lunch - took it's time! I had chap Cay - hard noodles - and the girls had satay.

The boat was sooo crowded - some passengers decided to put life jackets on straight away! Gonna be one crazy ride, and it was! People were sitting in the isles, people not well, really choppy, and people in the back soaked. Got to Nusa Penida safely though. We got picked up and taken to Coco Resort. It was pretty cool, all staying in one room with a mezzanine - amazing!

We decided to do a walk to Crystal Bay for the sunset. Paish wanted a scooter desperately - maybe later eh? Sunset was lovely, and walked home. Saw a dead lizard and snake on the way back. Lovely dinner and relaxed ready for our crazy day tomorrow...
