2017-10-01 (Sunday) - The Kebun
Storms! All night, and all day! It was pretty spectacular, and torrential! Paish and Daddy woke at 7.30 and watched the storms and challenged each other. Mummy and Rox slept until around 9.30! What the!
Packed up, and went for our breakfast - home made jams and buns! Yummy!
We then waterproofed our bags, and headed down to the boat at high tide after taking pictures of Callie, Lola and Sophie - sad to say goodbye, they were lovely! Lola and Callie were sooooo cute!
We headed off on the ocean in torrential rain, but it was warmer than it should have been, but we were still soaked. Matt dropped us off in the market where we met Adrian - a Malay born in Brisbane living in Sarawak trading in goats and has a home stay - wow! And he knows how to make layer cake (kek lapis)! We went to a local restaurant where we ate rice, noodles, fish curry and jungle greens - lovely! We then headed back to his farm which was the most scenic and relaxing homestay ever! We were staying in a long house above rivers that had crocodiles in! Adrian was a pretty impressive guy, and we've already heard a lot of his stories!
We met Janine who helped us with our bags, showed us around, and our washing. She also showed us our car, so we headed out pretty much straight away to the Matang Wildlife Centre which was very quaint, and saw the rehabilitation of orang-utans, monkeys, hornbills, deer and crocodiles. We only just got in at the end of the day, so there was no one there. It was pretty spooky, but amazing.
Came back after, and mooched around until dinner got delivered!
